Are you referring to the Red Sox? The 62-38 Red Sox who lead the American League, are 2.5 games behind Philly for the best record in baseball, and have won 7 out of 10 Red Sox?

There's a reason baseball has 3840 regular-season games. It's called "highs and lows". No one wins 'em all. If you get all worked up about one regular-season baseball game, you'll die of high blood pressure by October.

The Royals are 16 games below .500 and tied for the 2nd-worst record in the American League. They won last night. Good for them, really. They could use the morale boost and so could their fanbase. But no one in K.C. is scheduling the victory parade today, and no one in the Red Sox front office is furiously trying to figure out who to fire. Shit happens.

They just ran into a better team this morning. The Royals are very tough to beat in games that span 2 days.

I have no doubt, its not like last nights (this morning) game is not going to be the iceberg that sank the titanic. Its just in the AL east you need to beat the teams you should. It different when someone pounds the shit out of you or outplays you but that was not the case, the Sox had a TON of chances to put the game away and simply could not do it.

The Royals have actually been decent against the East and West this year...its in their own division where they stink. and since the games are heavily division weighted......

being really close to the game I always hear players talk about how they are going to come to kc to "rake" they yuck it up about how they are going to get their batting average up. Funny thing this morning. Turned on ESPN, and saw the 'lead' stories on the bottom line. They were (of course) the NFL, the Yankees beating the Mariners for their 14th straight loss, the Texans scoring 20 on the Twinkies and the Indians beating the Angels in the bottom of the 9th on Kipnis' first hit.

So I knew, without a doubt, at that moment that the Royals had won. Because when I went to bed it was the 12th inning. And there's no way in hell that the BoSox winning a 12+ inning game would not have been one of the four lead stories...
