If they have three trees on the same acre, it is called a park. I kid, I kid, but the the trees are all leaning North.

When I was just a young’n and cross country bicycling was still something new my mother and I ran across some bicyclists doing the cross country trek and I remember thinking it was funny that they all agreed they’d go through Colorado twice before going through Kansas again. They said, “At least the mountains have a downhill side. In Kansas the wind is ALWAYS blowing against you.”

Poaching? ROFL, we have had this discussion before.

If only Missourians supported those teams, they would have moved out like the Hockey and NBA Kings.

Kansans don't care for the NBA, they have good college teams, so what happened?

You should be thanking Kansans, Iowans and Nebraskans for their support, you Illinoian!

To be correct, in the summer it is Texas/Oklahoma blowing and Nebraska sucking. Kansas is caught in the middle. In the winter they reverse rolls, but Kansas is still caught in the middle.

Not defensive, just the truth. There are haves, and there are have nots. If they're lucky, the have nots will be close enough to haves to leech off them a bit.

That would be TO MISSOURI to go to these games, you ****ing imbecile. If you don't like it, there's lots of other options for you. Minneapolis to the north, Chicago to the east, Denver to the west.

You seem like you'd make a fine Twins fan.

Do you think I posted this thread to honestly trash Missouri? Not at all. It's a news story that I found to have some good timing with the college hoops rivalry happening again Saturday so I used it to have "fun" the way said rivalry often has fun.

Do I think Missouri is a bad place? Not at all. I have plenty of friends in Missouri and enjoy plenty of Missourians on this board. I respect many MU fans here... KCMizzou, luv and others because they can be passionate about their home state and home team without taking it so seriously that it runs their lives or ruins their lives if they lose or turns them into raging assholes when the topic comes up in general.

I BELIEVE anyone who has had any experience with me at all on this board understands the intention behind the thread... side-poking fun. I challenge anyone to find a KU fan on this board who has given MU their props more than I have and should MU win again Saturday I'll hand out congratulations again.

I've posted some serious things but all in all I don't take much seriously here.

Missouri is a fine state and is home to a lot of fine people and 2 of my 3 favorite sports teams. To truly hate on Missouri would be to hate on a lot of things I love.

Mr. Missouri.

I have been down there 9 times now since May, and the standard of living has already been raised, along with the base IQ and # of teeth in Stone County.

I love it though, it is beautiful there, been dreaming of it for about 30 years.

But I won't be anymore of a Mizzou fan once being a permanent resident, than I am an Illinois fan now. :D

I did get in the middle of an old fashioned hillbilly feud though, damn, I had no idea it could be that uncivil. Funny thing is, one guy is a transplanted Iowain and the other is a died in the wool Nebraskan. They have both been there a lot of years, and just hate the hell out of each other.

I've lived in Illinois about 19 years and can't find it in myself to care about U of I either. Some people I work with lament over the latest Illini basketball collapse and I'm all "yeah... but it's just U of I."

Stone county, Galena mailing address. (it could actually be a little more than 13 to Arkansas, but that seems correct.) Home of the Y bridge. That thing is something to behold, if you ever have a chance to see it. We didn't stop, but I will someday. Y Bridge

For the life of me, I don't understand why it is a Galena address, there at least 3 towns closer to our house. We are 9 miles from the closest vending machine.

3.5 miles you say? Not bad.
There’s a spot on 75 highway just outside of Altoona that I’ll test radar antennas from because I can sit on this certain hill and see for around 3.5 miles.
A good functioning antenna will start pick up targets as they’re rounding the corner at that 3.5 mile mark.
Always cracks me up to see people nail the brakes when they see me sitting on the side of the road, because by that time it’s way too late and I’ve been tracking their speed for a couple of miles already.
