Think about how many people are tuning in to see these tools on ESPN talk about Peyton going to the Jets, Redskins, or Dolphins compared to us tools that are tuning in to see them talk about Peyton joining the Chiefs.

The point is, nobody gives a shit about the Chiefs except us. Most of our fanbase probably doesn't even have ****ing cable.

2-3 years of Manning > 2-3 more years of Cassel.

Those 2 years of Montana got us further than anyone else since Lenny. I'd take 2 years.

I think you are right-warm weather club at this point in his career.

I think he could stay where he is living and still play for KC without moving his family. That's a possibility.

kysirsoze 03-06-2012 06:11 PM

If he comes to KC, he'll have a home game against Indy. In Miami, he'd have to play in Indy. Which would he prefer?

Don't trust Larry Fitzgerald's QB evaluations.

Elway, playing it cool with Tebow, makes a master stroke and surprises everyone by getting the big armed QB he really wants.

Reasons we should want Peyton:

Luxury box revenue goes straight to the team and Clark sent 125 million of his own money to renovate the stadium to add a lot more luxury boxes. Straight cash in Clarks pocket, yo.
Local tv contract revenue
Season ticket sales
Promise to fans of multiple championships.
Jersey sales
Excitement for a somewhat stale franchise
Primetime exposure both on home and away games
How could they NOT want a guy like PM?

Per @ArmandoSalguero, #Dolphins "very confident" on chances to land Manning. Also confident on Harbaugh, Fisher, and playoffs past 2 years.

Even if we aren't the team who gets him, I'd bet my username that Pioli at the very least makes a phone call to Peyton's agent to see if he has any interest in playing for KC. I'm sure, given his age and the fact he already has a ring, that location, playing environment, and playoff caliber team around him will play a role. The only thing the Chiefs have of those three are the team around him.

Now it's time for Scott to use some of the "excess cash" we have laying around and get his ass in here. If it's Peyton or a top FA DT, I take Peyton and draft a DT high in the draft.

Honestly, this organization hasn't won anything in 40 years. We haven't won a playoff game in 20 years. Sure, we've been there a lot in that time. But we have nothing to show for it.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is: I'm not going to get my hopes up when it comes to this organization. Manning would be nice. Even a manning at 50% is better than Cassel at 100%. But I just don't see it happening. Manning isn't about to learn a new offense. Whatever team he goes to will have to basically let him run the offense. I don't see Pioli allowing that. Cassel is his man, I suppose it will remain that way regardless how bad Cassel is.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Quesadilla Joe 03-06-2012 06:28 PM

I really don't think Bowe and Baldwin are Manning type recievers. Manning prefers great route runners with sure hands who are willing to stay late, that doesn't sound like our guys.

the only other move that could make more money for him would be drafting Luck or RG3 and that ain't happening.

SNR of Chiefs Planet reports that Washington and Miami are the only two teams who are likely to probably sign Manning maybe. Unless it's some other team. Which it could be. Findings are preliminary and sources unnamed. Also, there's a little bit of speculation involved. But for the most part, it's Washington or Miami.
