I'm going to a bar tonight with a group of guys. Everyone puts a buck into a pot before each pick and guesses who's going to get selected. Whoever gets it right splits the pot, 32 times. Never done it, but sounds like fun.

I almost peed laughing at this one. The poor Browns

The good news is that he eventually came back, and the Bills traded his rights to Cleveland for a draft pick that turned into Jim Kelly. If that's too happy an ending for you, see the Bills formidable list of honorable mentions below.

All the rumors up here in Vikings country are that the Bucs want to trade up to 3 so they can draft Trent Richardson ahead of the Browns.

Is that just wishful thinking on Vikes' fans part or do you think that has merit?

TRich is the player TB wants most, IMO. Minnesota can then grab Claiborne at 5.

The Vikes have too many holes--if Kalil is there he's the safest pick. Everything is posturing to try to trade-down for additional picks, IMHO.

It's hard to say, but if the Bucs trade up to draft a running back, both Dominik and Schiano will be fired before I have to renew my drivers license in 2015.

Definitely. Indy, St. Louis, and Minnesota all need as many draft picks as they can get their hands on.

St. Louis already fixed that problem. Indy will have to make do for now with their outstanding franchise QB (****ing Colts). Minnesota got kinda screwed in this deal. That Tampa trade, if the rumors are true, would be incredibly valuable to them. They've been eyeing Kalil and Claiborne anyway all this time. They'd be guaranteed to get one of them.

Report: Morris Claiborne is No. 1 player on Vikings draft board

Posted by Evan Silva on April 26, 2012, 4:09 PM EDT

Getty Images
Citing a source with knowledge of the situation, NFL Network’s Steve Wyche reports that LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne is the No. 1 player on the Vikings’ draft board, and they are “leaning toward” drafting Claiborne with the No. 3 overall pick in the draft.

Per Wyche, the Vikings also “like [Claiborne] more” than USC tackle Matt Kalil.

Appearing on ESPN’s NFL Draft Special Thursday, Adam Schefter seemed to agree with the notion that Claiborne is the favorite to be drafted with the third overall pick.

“There seems to be a feeling that they might be leaning toward Morris Claiborne while still considering Matt Kalil,” Schefter said.

The Vikings’ priority remains trading down, but if they stick to their draft board, Claiborne will be the third pick in the draft and a mini-slide could be in order for this year’s top-rated offensive tackle.

I have no clue where he would even play. He's oversized for a 4-3 DE... would he be a JJ Watt-type at DE for us? We already have a guy like that in Allen Bailey.

I think this is just proof that some of these draft sites don't do their homework at all. One quick glance at the roster, maybe some research from local sources, and then they say, "Welp, this guy kinda fits. Good enough"

Rick Spielman is the dumbest mother****ing GM if he takes Claiborne. That's saying a lot considering who is running the show in Miami.

An ex-Viking player (Mike Morris) hosts a morning talk show here in the Cities, and he's very well connected to the team. I believe he's 8-for-9 in predicting the Vikings 1st round pick, with the one miss being due to a team trading in front of them and taking their pick. This morning he said he has it on extremely good authority that the Vikings will take Kalil, outside of a trade offer they can't refuse.

Take it for what it's worth, but he has a great track record...

I think they're trying to convince TB to trade up to 3 for the guy they really want, Claiborne. Browns aren't taking Kalil and probably won't trade down, so Vikes know they'd still get Kalil at 5. Can't fault them for trying.

On Rotoworld:

"The Lions offered their first-, second-, and fourth-round picks in last year's draft in an effort to trade up for Patrick Peterson.
The Cardinals declined, but Detroit's aggressiveness to acquire secondary help last year speaks to the team's realization that cornerback remains a major problem area. NFL Network's Jason La Canfora has reported that the Lions are trying to trade up for South Carolina CB Stephon Gilmore. Detroit may have to come up with an offer similar to last year's Peterson proposal, because the Lions draft later this year and Gilmore is a projected top 10-12 pick."

I assume we'd all be fine with a trade down to 23 and pick up another 2nd and perhaps a 5th? Could still get Hightower there most likely, right in front of Pitt.
