I all I saw thig do was post his usual things which honestly I didn't even give much thought to anymore. He had been doing it for so long it was like part of the environment and would be weird if it wasn't there anymore. I did notice that he would say things to frazod that was ignored. Maybe frazod bitched to the mods about it and it got him banned. It's no coincidence the only 2 people happy about it are frazod and onthewarpath, two people coddled and protected by the mods on this board. Just sayin.

No, I think it's just gone into major GROWN UP mode. I had nothing to do with him getting banned - believe me, there are several people I'd rather see gone - I just had the annoying little **** on ignore. He apparently flaunted the rules once too often and ignored his last warning. I didn't see what he did BECAUSE I HAVE HIM ON IGNORE. I wasn't consulted. Whoever pulled the trigger on him didn't send me a high-five PM about it. But do I like the decision? Yes. An example of what I do happened several days ago when the first reports of Cassel getting booed at the All Star game got out. The first few pages of the threads were nothing but, "I wish Cassel would get cut/traded from this team, and I hate that he's my QB, but I he's a really really nice guy and a good person." They were so prevalent that they turned into a dumb cliche. So I posted a string of irrational contrarian opinions regarding Matt Cassel being a total asshole. I called him Hitler and made a rape joke about his wife. One or two posters were furious with me.

I guess I missed that one.

Obviously I don't pay nearly as much attention to what goes on around here as some people think I do.

If the joke was "somebody's gotta do it since Cassel can't score with her" then I'm ok with it.

He got a couple of days for effing with me. He needs to just stay out of any discussion about how mods run the board. That's a new rule. The last person I want to hear criticism from on how to mod a board is that kid. It's better for everybody that way. I don't think it's too much to ask, all things considered.

I would have perma-banned him many, many moons ago but he grates me personally as well. You guys have a thankless job. I was actually talking to Bwana on the phone before he took mod position and my advice was 'don't do it'.

The freedom we have here to be an asshole is a great part of this place.

Although it may not be expicitly against the rules, I dont think most members of the community want this place to evolve into a community where joking about rape is the norm.

This is just part of building a sustainable community. Every once in a while a single poster forces you to confront an issue that just comes up every once in a while. You are forced to develop a policy and deal with that individual.

If you have ever been a mod or admin then you know that petty arguments, boundry pushers,and disagreements you have to mediate between posters. Its a thankless job. You certaintly get tired of dealing with assholes.
