Regardless of what happens if you're a Broncos fan, don't you now not want to root for Dumervil? To me this is a real difference between realistic fans, and blind beyond belief homers. I remember LJs last few seasons I was embarrassed he was on the team.

Whether or not the something comes of this through the legal system or if any action is taken against him is irrelevant. Goodell is still going bring down the hammer. The question is will it be a tack hammer or a sledgehammer.

So having the gun in the glove box is probably a good thing since Dumervil has a permit. I bet Steinberg can argue that Dumervil never flashed a gun at all.

Here's the key thing....

How would the witnesses/victims know about the gun unless they had seen it?

And, actually, the witnesses said that each man brandished a weapon.

The witnesses said they saw two guns. Two guns were found.

Hernandez confirmed to NFL.com and NFL Network on Monday that Dumervil has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Terry Chavez, spokesperson for Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle, told NFL.com and NFL Network that Dumervil's arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 13 at 9 a.m. ET before Judge Darrin Gayles.

The state attorney's office will have until that time to decide whether they will file formal charges against the Bronco.

Cox was arrested, but the whole thing seemed like bullshit

DJ Williams, DUI, DUI

I hear you. It can happen to any team. Owners ought to have financial recourse at a high enough level to act as a deterrent that would actually make these idiots think before they roll around town with pistols tucked in their belts pretending they are Tony Montana.

I had a post written that explained that I agreed with you, but I think it's a complicated issue. On the one hand, it sucks that teams suffer when a player goes out and act like an idiot, so it would indeed be nice if they could recoup some major dough for issues like this.

On the other hand, a system like that would reduce the risk teams face when picking up a player with character issues, and I don't necessarily want it to be easier for thugs to break into the game in the first place.

There was assault on Dumervil's part.
I was trying to interject a little levity with the lace panties part.
I haven't actually heard what was thrown at the RR.
I thought it was a little over the top for 2 guys to jump out of their car and threaten a lady by showing their weapons.

It's a little more complicated than that, there was some third party involved, but the details are shakey at best

Great point. Maybe part of the rule is that if a team pick's up a player that has incurred the Idiot Penalty within the past 12 months that team may only collect 50% of the penalty if the player re-offends any time during his first season.

Maybe Elvis didn't use the gun in a crime. Maybe one of the people he was with did and Elvis didn't know someone put it in the glove box.

This could be a scenario similar to the one Chumlee was in, where his friends beat up a guy while Chumlee just stood there. The only difference is Doom's buddies had guns and didn't harm anyone.

Jeepers. I was going to ask how the guy still has a license, but apparently he doesn't. How dumb does a person have to be to have six traffic cases in six years? Can he not figure out the cause and effect of why he's getting stopped?

It wasn't him. A friend stuck him in the drivers seat each time. His lawyer will get him out of it.

Doesn't that make it worse for him? I don't see how him having possession of another person's gun is a good thing.

I read that same quote in the Post earlier today and just shook my head. Money, like booze, amplifies the true character.
