1. This isn't a new rule. We've recently determined that it has become a problem for 3 or 4 people and issued a warning that we intend to enforce it.
2. You're not a problem in this regard. Just do what you do. There are probably a half a dozen people out of 10,000 for whom this is going to be any kind of adjustment or mental challenge.

First time long time. I have a question for you sir....Why are you mod ? What do you get out of it? I`m a mod for car forum, and to be honest, I don't know half the rules and don't care either. I let posters do what they want as long as its not spamming or racist...basically what I`m trying to get at is you appear to be much, much ....MUCH more hard line than most mods I`ve come across.
Did something happen to you as a child or adult that made you seek out the mod position to gain some sort of control ? Serious question. I don't really think your questions are all that serious considering the editorializing along the way but I'll humor you anyway since my wife is watching Law and Order and I'm disinterested in the show.
1. I'm a mod because I'm passionate about this site; past, current, and future.
2. I'm not an incredibly important person but I have enough power in real life that the power I have here is completely laughable.
3. Do I enjoy having the power? Not in particular. I'd much rather just hang out and talk about stupid crap with you or any other person than ban somebody or enforce some silly rule.
4. In any organization there is somebody that needs to enforce some semblance of order or else chaos ensues. I've seen enough forums crumble over the years that I know the chaos thing does not bode well for the longterm viability of a forum. We're trying to maintain a balance between being the wild west and civil enough to be enjoyable to a large majority of Chiefs fans.

Now I have a couple of questions for you. Did something happen to you as a child that makes it difficult to interact respectfully with a person of authority?

Mod...you're doing it wrong. You can take it how you want to take it , but you're the type of mod a site doesn't need. You can ban me for saying it, but its the truth. I'm going to try to explain this a little better for you.

This place is often compared to a bar. It's a Chiefs bar, but besides football we talk about just about anything else you might see talked about amongst a group of friends having a beer.

This bar has a lot of regulars that like it just how it is. If someone new comes along and is a good guy, great. If the guy is a jerkoff, he's not going to be very welcome. No one particularly cares if the bar gets a lot of new customers if it means attracting an undesirable crowd. Like any bar, people occasionally drink too much and make an ass of themselves. All other bar patrons recognize this, and for the most part let it slide. However sometimes a patron becomes a habitual drunken asshole. When that happens, the bartender asks that person to leave. If the guy keeps returning and annoying patrons in his drunken stupors, he will eventually get kicked out permanently. No matter how much his couple of buddies think the guy's drunk stupid act is funny.

The mods are the bartenders. They all started out as patrons, but with a consistent display of the ability to hold their liquor, they were hired on.

Now this bar gets a lot of new customers, because its a cool place. But remember, the regulars dont give a shit about new customers unless they fit in. The bartenders don't either. They care about keeping the regulars happy, and keeping the place what it is.

Now we get to you. You don't seem to like the music, the drinks, whats on the bigscreen, and you don't even like one of the bartenders. You suppose the bar is gonna change for you? Nope. You can learn to ignore the things you don't like about the bar, or you can go drink elsewhere. But no one gives a shit what you think about what's playing on the jukebox.

(At this point, Thatguy realizes Zack is flirting with him. Although thatguy is not homophobic in any way, it still is a bit uncomfortable for him. Thatguy is flattered, but will have to find a way to let Zack down easy)
