Unless there's some kind of goofy rules in the trust, Clark as CEO has the power to hire and fire whoever he wants. I said goofy rules because boards normally only concern themselves with the CEO, moy underlings. Pioli's contract is somewhere around $5M a year. Since he has another year on his contract and the remainder of this year, figure that would cost $6.825M. What will it cost in lost ticket sales next year, concessions and merchandise this year and next?

There is no proof of what Pioli makes. For all we know he could make 10 million per year or 2 million per year. Its all speculation.

NFL.com reported he was the highest paid GM in the league.

Chiefs GM Scott Pioli's Deal Is For Five Years

Neither Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt and new general manager Scott Pioli revealed any details about the length or terms of Pioli’s contract. But multiple sources around the league said Pioli signed a five-year contract with Kansas City that makes him the highest-paid general manager in the league.

Hell, he should just not pay Pioli.....kinda like what they're currently doing to Haley

Ironically, I have also heard the exact opposite of that story. The family wants him gone but Clark isn't willing to let the money go.

Dayze 11-23-2012 12:43 AM

whatever is the most reeruned outcome or possibility.....that's what I'm going with because it's the Chiefs.

Yeah both of those rumors have been out there for at least a month.

Can't he figure out it is gone either way? 8 to 10 games of half full Arrowhead vs renewed energy by a fan base he knows is there to fill it every home game if he puts a good product in front of said fan base. Ticket sales, parking, concessions, Chiefs merchandise sales, etc., probably easily offsets buyout of Pioli.

Coogs 11-29-2012 10:20 AM

So, has there been a Pioli sighting at Arrowhead lately?

Dayze 11-29-2012 12:01 PM

no; all the blinds are closed.

mr. tegu 01-05-2013 06:12 PM

This could have possibly happened as the story says given how quickly everything happened.

Nick Wrights story could also have been the truth as well. Either way both stories were true and Pioli is gone!
