So, what is with all this throwing deep, challenging the defense vertically stuff....
|
The Miners were 0/13 on third down vs the giants last year.
|
I wonder how Larry Fitzgerald feels.
Truly an elite WR...signs a truly elite contract...has QB play so bad he can't get one ****ing reception this game...and it's been going on all year he seems like a guy who wants to go down for history more than make a lot of money...this QB shit is really ****ing him |

The game was decided by 3 points. I am not a rocket scientist but I can tell you Smith didn't lose that game. He had 2 TD's and no turnovers and you have no idea what he may have done had Williams not gifted the ball back to the Giants 2x deep in their own end of the field. If you cant get that its not my fault. |
Seattle went for it on 4th and 23?
Go **** yourself, Pete Carroll. |
well I'll tell you what
watching that 49ers/Giants game...neither offense wanted to win the game...49ers D was too tough, and Alex Smith (IMO) wasn't up for it... the game was won when Kyle Williams ****ed up both offenses had several chances to win |
you know you're a bad QB when you get benched for Ryan Lindley, regain your starting QB position from Ryan Lindley, and then play so bad you get re-benched for Ryan Lindley

Vernon Davis 28 Yd Pass From Alex Smith (David Akers Kick) Smith was a choking mother ****er for sure. |

Saints D is just abysmal

What we do know is SF lost because of Williams fumbles, end of story, without that they win the game 95% of the time and are in the SB. History proves that out. |

How sad is it that saying it's been 20 years ago sounds so bad until you do the math....I'm getting old. :( |

I was not sure he would do well - Carroll, is a players’ coach. |

Don't really care about what he did early in the game...they had three possessions to get one field goal and he was abysmal

Why anyone is arguing over Alex ****ing Smith is beyond me. He will never do anything special. He's a ****ing game manager. |

Both Eli and Alex were terrible during the stretch of that game in all honesty

Not trying to say Smith is elite. I am arguing the statement that Alex Smith could never lead a team to a SB when aside from 2 ST fumbles in an OT game in the NFCCG he would have done just that last year and was playing even better this year. If you say he didn't lose that game then you say someone else did and therefore had that person (Williams) not ****ed up they are in the SB. That makes my point. |

both San Fran and NYG had chances to win the game on offense...and neither QB made a play. Not once. For several series. The game was won when Kyle Williams fumbled, yet another, punt. Plain and simple. |

anyway, i try to keep not to comment on these types of posts concerning our Super Bowl win last Feb. |

and as for the Giants chick who knows NOTHING about football...
I've been the biggest Eli supporter from basically day 3 since he's been in the league. There is a locked thread from a few years before Eli beat Brady in the Super Bowl where Clay and I had a debate over instant messanger about me thinking Eli had really turned a corner and was going to be an all-time great...on this board. So yeah...I know you're a huge Giants homer with zero football knowledge but at least do your research. I think Eli is the 4th best QB in the NFL. |

100% the 49ers absolutely shut down Eli and Alex Smith couldn't even come close to capitalizing...shit, I don't think he got a 1st down but still...neither offense won that game Kyle Williams simply lost it those are the facts from that game |
I think the Team from Shitville will be handed a big loss from the Giants today...
|

Smith is a capable NFL QB. And you're right, he's the definition of a game manager who isn't going to go out there and win many games...his performance against New Orleans in the playoffs last year was admirable and I'm sure he'll find another team who will give him one more chance to be a starter. but the reason for his benching had nothing to do with his play...Alex Smith was playing reasonably well this year... the reason for his benching was because Kaepernick can be an elite, franchise QB. Plain and simple. Smith cannot. |

OK, I took the day off from drinking, but I'm stunned some folks are saying that Eli isn't all that good??? Huh???!!! OK, back to the Merlot!

you know jack shit - or you would have brought it up 20 ****ing posts ago |

Its this simple. If you ask yourself honestly, had Williams not had the second fumble, not even considering the first one, do you think SF wins that game? The simple answer is yes. |
