Reid/Dorsey: What can we do to get these idiot Chiefs fans back on the wagon? I know! Let's sign some cheap piece of shit that went to school around there, that they'd be familiar with! They'll think we're ****ing geniouses, and it won't cost us much.

If he turns out to be a franchise legit QB, unlikely as that is, MU fans would be fun to be around.

I like this better than Alex Smith to be honest. I'm going to have to stay away from this website to avoid of the crying though :) suicide watch time

oh, I'm hoping like **** he or smith take us to a super bowl.... in other news, I'll be religiously playing the lottery and scratch-off tickets--
I'm pretty sure the lottery strategy has a MUCH ****ING BETTER EXPECTED PAYOFF than alex ****ING SMITH or CHASE ****ING DANIEL **** my life |
This reminds me of Pioli's strategy. Alex Smith is our guy, so we'll bring in some scrubs for "competition." Sheesh. This franchise is a cluster****.

So does anyone have video of him with saints all I can find is mu tape.

2/3 of my QB plan are in place!

But Chase Daniels? Dont understand that. I could say i understand the alex smith trade, but now with the chase daniels signing, i dont even understand that anymore. Andy cant really think that Alex is the long term fix here? |

Sometimes, I dream about what it would be like to be a fan of a sports program or team that understands what the f**** it is doing and is at the forefront of innovation and change in its sport, rather than lagging 5-10 years behind.
Then I wake up and realize I'm a Royals, Chiefs and Missouri fan. And unless I force myself to start caring about major league soccer, I'm out of luck unless I go total bandwagon. FML |

If you're unable to somewhere else, you're not good enough. If you're unwilling to go somewhere else, then you're not good enough AND you're a natural loser without a competitive instinct. You'll find that all three apply to Chase, and more or less applies to Alex Smith. |

Somewhere in Buffalo Buddy Nix is laughing at KC for not grasping the concept of how important the QB position is. And that is coming from a man who still uses a rotary phone.

What did you idiots want instead? Jason Campbell?
I know you all have a ****ing hard on for Geno - but that isn't happening. So, you get the best QB available (A. Smith) and the best backup available and the bitching from this place couldn't be louder because you aren't getting the most over-hyped QB this season - Geno Smith. Year after year you bitch and complain, yet you are still here as a fan. Just don't care anymore and do something else. Or maybe being in permabitch mode makes you happy. |

I was under the assumption that with them NOT extending alex smith, that they were going to draft his future replacement. But then signing Chase for three years, is a little curious. I still dont get why you feel the need to go all internet bully lol. Its quite funny. |

We wanted the Chiefs to make a concerted effort to find their OWN franchise quarterback. A guy who can win games in the playoffs and get the Chiefs back to the Super Bowl. By trading an exorbitant price for Alex Smith and then handing a huge contract to Chase Daniel to back him, they have signalled not only that they aren't making that concerted effort this year, but also that they're not making it any time soon. While bringing in two guys who have a combined 0.5 percent chance of developing into a franchise guy. Signing Chase Daniel by itself would make sense. Trading for Alex Smith for a much lower price would make sense. Either leaves open multiple options for acquiring a QB: - drafting one at 1.1. - drafting one 2.2 - trading back into the first with the 2.2 + to get a guy at a more realistic slot - going with stop-gap options at stop-gap prices for 2013 and trying again in 2014 They don't even have the flexibility to try again next year as they should because they're giving up somewhere between a 2nd and a 4th to get Smith, severely limiting their ability to move up in a round or wait a round to get a QB in that draft. |

Geno's worth taking at like 12 or 18 but not at 1.1? |

The price they paid to get him severely limits that possibility unless they get really luck on a 3rd or later, 9th or lower rated QB in this draft or unless they get lucky with draft positioning next year. The Chiefs will probably win 7-10 games with Alex Smith and draft somewhere in the teens or low 20s. And the only QBs "worth" a first-round pick will be gone before their pick. And their second will belong to San Francisco. So they'll be in the same goddamn boat they're in this year. |
Ok -
1. If Daniel played for UCLA, would anyone here really give a flying **** about this signing? 2. Matt Moore > Chase Daniel 3. The dream for Geno/Barkley/Nassib/Glennon/Manuel/Scott is officially dead. Prepare for 6th/7th round QB. I'm hoping for Peter Lalich at this point. :( |

Chase Daniel. JFC this organization is full of dipshits.

Whether or not Alex Smith is a good QB isn't the point. The point is the Chiefs haven't drafted a QB in the first round since the early 80s. They have the 1st overall pick-for the first time in franchise history since the merger-and trade for Alex Smith as well as signing Daniel. They literally went through this exact same experience 4 years ago and look where it's gotten them. Back to square one. |

I love MU as much as anybody else but the guy hasn't done shit.
Not sure why anyone would be happy with this signing. Just another in a line of QB's who haven't done shit, always ending up in KC. |
What a scrub signing. Hell Chase couldn't even beat out Drew Brees for the starter spot in N.O.
