Also, is this a keeper league... meaning are we drafting\playing for the future etc? Or will it roll back a year much like it did this season?

I would guess they have less than 20 mins.

Hammock Parties 05-20-2013 11:57 AM

Same shit that happened last year. Drifters and Cripplas holding EVERYONE UP.

ChiefAshhole20 05-20-2013 11:59 AM

Can we just give him Blackmon?

Old Dog 05-20-2013 12:01 PM

He's got a 60 minute clock....relax

I vote no. Let him slide down to the second round on the clock...the autopick works fine for people that have used it.

Neither of those guys suited up in 2012.

They don't have trade value.

no longer works that way.....you're assigned a player if you let the clock run out. If you have no one predrafted it's whoever was the highest taken in the actual draft (Blackmon in this case)

Hammock Parties 05-20-2013 12:04 PM

OK! Finally some movement.

1 Portland Rhein Andrew Luck
2 Cedar Rapids Robert Griffin III
3 Topeka Tyrannicide Russell Wilson
4 Fort Worth Drifters Doug Martin
5 Springfield Attack Ryan Tannehill
6 Chula Vista cripplas Morris Claiborne
7 St Joseph Stetsons Casey Hayward

rageeumr 05-20-2013 12:04 PM

Wow. I had Hayward pretty high on my board, but 1.7 is a little surprising.

Casey Hayward... I'm down for that.

Rain Man 05-20-2013 12:05 PM

If he doesn't make his pick, he should default to the top player left on the NFL draft, which I believe is Mr. Trent Richardson. Not a bad pick for him.

The owner was on the site at 7:00 this morning, so hopefully he knows. I think he's the person who has a "no pm's" setting, but he should have gotten the e-mail. I sent messages out through e-mail, chiefsplanet, and sandbox, so everyone should have received notice one way or the other.

If you don't pick in 60 minutes, the process is:

1. System autopicks whoever is highest on your draft board
2. If no one on your draft board, THEN it picks highest pick from last year.

He must have had Claiborne at the top of his board.

The coming year is based on 2012.

5. The draft process goes as follows:

a. You should receive an e-mail warning you that you’re on the clock, but it doesn’t hurt to monitor.
b. If you have autopick off, you must make your choice within an hour of your draft pick.
c. If you have autopick on, your top pick will automatically be selected for you and karma will reward you for being efficient.
d. If you have autopick off and an hour goes by, we will automatically draft your top autopick if your draft board has names on it.
e. If none of the above occurs and an hour goes by, you will get the top player of the NFL draft who has not yet been drafted, regardless of your position of need.
f. In short, you’re getting a player within an hour of your draft time one way or another.

Yeah, that must be what happened. He filled out his draft board and then didn't click "autopick". Either that or he just showed up. Either way, Claiborne is a really good pick for his needs.

I think the same thing happened with Fort Worth. He seemed to take the full 60 minutes, and then took Doug Martin.

Time will tell if trading my 1st for Frank Gore was a good idea or not. A 29 year-old running back scares me a little, but at the same time I was absolutely desperate for an immediate fix at RB and didn't know if I could get one at the #14 spot. We'll see.

I really don't want to make this next pick, but I don't have a lot of choice.....

Rain Man 05-20-2013 12:27 PM

Mike Mayock, what are the Ball Busters' needs?

Well, it looks like they've got big holes at cornerback, right tackle, and inside linebacker, Rich. But the question is, does that match the available talent?

Surprisingly quiet in the Clearwater War Room. I think I've shown a willingness to deal and have perhaps even made a bad trade or two.

Yet the phones don't ring...

Boom.

DJ's left nut 05-20-2013 01:11 PM

Oh thank God.

I was dreading having to take the guy if he fell to me. I was going to do it, by God. Then I'd have had to figure out way to deal Costanzo. But Kalil was the best player on the board, IMO.

Old Dog 05-20-2013 01:12 PM

I wanted to go with a RB, but as bad as this team is a 4-5 year player won't be around long enough to see us be competitive.....add in the fact that I had Saffold starting at LT and it was a no-brainer.

rageeumr 05-20-2013 01:14 PM

Well hell. Anybody looking to move up to #10? I'll give it 10 minutes or so.

ChiefAshhole20 05-20-2013 01:15 PM

I know it isn't ideal for the Knuckledraggers, but they really should be going with Barron here. If not him, than Gilmore or Blackmon. All of those positions could use the upgrade.

Based on the typical draft cheat sheet, I would need your whole draft plus a pick next year.

Player-wise, about the only thing I'd take for this spot is a WR, DT or DE. MAYBE a LB.

Edit: Or a CB

{clap, clap, clapclapclap}

Guy blows the hell out of a RB or two and suddenly people start ignoring the fact that he has the coverage skills of Bernard Pollard.

Don't get me wrong...he's on my board (afterall, I have Bernard Pollard), but I still don't understand the Barron love.

Yeah, I wouldn't put him the Elite class by any means, but I feel it's safe to say he's a top 10 SS, no?
