Whatever, I can't take it. I'm so excited to get the season started. argh

I really like Bowe. I think he will be quite successful under Reid. I would agree with that. Maclin hasn't lived up to that top tier receiver level yet and Jackson looked like he was going there, but tailed off after that big hit by Dunta Robinson. It may be coincidental, who knows. I think where the Eagles will really be deep is tight end. Celek looked very promising, but had the dropsies over the last couple years. He's really tough and physical though. Then add Ertz and James Casey(who Kelly loves the versality of). Word in Philly is that Kelly will rely heavy on the TE, and may use 3 in formation at once with Casey as a half back.

I would expect Charles' receptions go up and his carries go down slightly. Reid needs his backs to catch passes and have versatility. He also needs his RBs to block. A lot of RBs in his tenure have found their way to the doghouse because they couldn't block/pick up the blitz. He throws the ball a lot, so that is important.

He wasn't advocating it, they both agreed Stanzi is the odd man out, he just said he believed that if the Chiefs don't give much tape on him in preseason, that it could be possible.

Mr_Tomahawk 07-24-2013 11:02 AM

You have a better chance of getting Stanzi to last on the PS. If they put Bray on the PS...he will be picked up by one of the other teams that wanted him.

He is young and appears to model his entire approach after Colin Cowherd. But wtf dude, how can you be this dumb? There were two other teams trying to sign him to a FA contract! You don't think he'd get picked up by anyone?

He just doesn't think about the actual situation. He's very myopic. (There's your Cowherd word, you SEC turd.)

KCUnited 07-24-2013 11:10 AM

I think his point was that it's easier to sneak an UDFA who can't see the field during preseason (if that's the Chiefs strategy) onto the PS than a 5th round pick with game tape. Either way, it was a reeruned conversation to even be having.

To the tune of you breaking your TV I suppose

donkhater 07-24-2013 12:12 PM

I can totally see Bray being moved to the practice squad.

In order to get him on the squad you have to cut him. Obviously a team can pick him up and place him on their practice squad (if Bray wants to sign with them) or sign him onto their roster.

What is the likelyhood that a team will pick up a rookie QB that they haven't worked with a spend a practice squad spot on them? Why would Bray go to another team's practice squad when he has Alex Smith and Chase Daniel as the 2 QBs ahead of him here?

And there is zero chance someone would sign him to the active roster without going through camp. Remember, he is a undrafted rookie QB. Not a 1st or 2nd rounder. If teams didn't want him in the draft, why would they automatically put him on the roster without having gone through camp with him.

He'd make it on the practice squad easily if KC decided to go in that direction.

Just a guess, but I think he'd prefer an aggressive HC and an aggressive QB.

An aggressive HC with a conservative QB is a recipe for disaster, unless the playbook consists of only 10 yard and under routes.
