This would be a fine time for a no-doubt bomb by Maxwell.

Verlander, haha
|
Prediction: One of the storylines when Justin Verlander's career is over will be the question - "How much did Jim Leland shorten Verlander's career by having him continually throw 120+ pitches/start?"
|
So is Crow coming in next.

Holland to face the meat of the order. Strength against strength.

Holland to face the Miggy, Prince, and V Mart. I don't have a good feeling about this.
|
Insurance please!
|
I don't know how in the world you give up a HR to Santiago of all people there
|
Best-case scenario at 2B: Christian Colon has "figured it out" at Omaha this year, closes the year strong there and makes the Opening Day lineup out of ST and provides a .750 OPS-type season.
This allows them to hold Bonifacio and use him as the utility guy (MAJOR upgrade from Johnson/Getz). Medium-case scenario: Bonifacio is the everyday 2B and provides a .700-.750 OPS with 30-40 SB. Worst-case scenario: Bonifacio sucks, Colon continues to be a bust, and we get stuck with Getzie again. |
Also... Crow got drilled all inning. Very fortunate to get out of that without them tying it up.

Al Alburquerque
Love that name. I hope Salvy drills one over the CF fence |
OK. Time to see if Holland can do what Mo Rivera could not...keep Cabrera in the park. Shut em down!

Let's get #2 tonight!!! |
Great win.
But we better start scoring more than 2 runs. Waiting for Shields to get blown up in the nightcap. |
I'm on a 4 game winning streak with Game Threads. Nightcap stays here.
Refractory Period starts now. Let's do it again tonight. *fist bumps all around* |
BOOM
|
so.... if we win 4/5 from the tigers, are we back in it?
|
Sweet Jesus... we aren't completely out of it yet! There is hope!
|
**** to the yes.

Royals are a very slight favorite in the nightcap at -109 on the money line
|
Hell yes we're still in this thing. I love that everyone in the rest of baseball (and some in here) are like "Oh, same old Royals." F that.
We're going to win tonight, and just for shits and giggles, let's just run the table. |

Here's the real question ned needs to be asked. Did Duffy just pitch his way into the rotation?

Lough will play next game. Maxwell will be leaving.
|
We're now 1-7 with Getz leading off.
|
Just for S&G...
Since becoming the Royals closer on July 31 last year, Greg Holland's numbers: 75 1/3 IP 111 K (13.32 K/9) 1.67 ERA 1.02 WHIP 49/53 save opportunities OBA: .184 Jim Johnson in the same time span has blown nine saves while getting crushed in every statistical measure. But he's elite. Totally. |

Is Davies gets his meat and carrots handed to him against the Tiggers, could Duffy potentially finish the year in the rotation?

I understand that this game was played in Detroit. Any word on where tonight's game will be played?
