Yes.

You're forgetting that even Cassel looked good against terrible defenses.

Davis is everywhere

RunKC 10-07-2013 07:40 PM

O.city, what's our record right now if Geno was starting 5 games?

Here's a hint: not 5-0

petegz28 10-07-2013 07:42 PM

Uh, yeah, might wanna try not running the ball

That's not the point.

Geno Smith is looking like a far better investment than Eric Fisher.

9er guy 10-07-2013 07:42 PM

Jets D-line is eating

Here's a hint,

Using a teams record as proof of this qb or that qb isn't a great way to accurately assess qb play.

Cowboys are 2-3. Would we be 2-3 with romo playing qb here?

-King- 10-07-2013 07:43 PM

Falcon Opponents this season:
156 attempts
102 completions
65.4%
1204 yards
8.1 YPA
301.0 YPG
9TDs
5.8TD%
3INTS
101.5Passer rating

They have probably the worse pass defense in the league.

9er guy 10-07-2013 07:43 PM

LoL Tirico's such a dick

TLO 10-07-2013 07:45 PM

I thought that ball was gonna be picked.

BigCatDaddy 10-07-2013 07:45 PM

Tony is still such a beast. Nice ****ing catch.

Tony has crazy strong hands

No what he asked was simple, if Geno was QB would we be 5-0.

Thats has nothing to do with would we be the same record as Dallas with Romo at Qb. That infers that Romo is the reason they suck.

Those 2 aren't the same comparison dude.

BroncoDork 10-07-2013 07:46 PM

Good god, ATL is having Jacquiz Rogers run back kickoffs? That's a sign of a team that hasn't drafted well. Geno has an arm, he throws with power and a nice spiral. But so did Kent Graham, Aaron Brooks, etc.

AussieChiefsFan 10-07-2013 07:46 PM

Atlanta is losing?

Oh for god's sake.

It's another example that team records rarely are truly indicative of qb play. Depends on scheme/philosophy etc.

Yeah, it's too early to say one way or another, but the upside on Geno is pretty high. Of course he could turn into Aaron Brooks as well and bottom out.

Not by much. Before this week he was on pace to turn the ball over 44 times, more than any QB has turned it over through 4 games (according to ESPN).

Why are you judging this so early? It's a month into their rookie year. Give it time.

MahiMike 10-07-2013 07:49 PM

Falcons are poster child for how Not to build a team. All skill players-no substance.

Would KC be 5-0 with Geno at QB? That is a yes or no question.

So Alex Smyth sucking but not turning it over is good enough?

Geno was a dumpster fire against the Titans last week. No way do we beat them with Geno as our QB.

Alex is also clutch, unlike Geno. He's been very good in the 4th quarter.

Have to go for it.

Mr. Laz 10-07-2013 07:52 PM

just kick the field goal

BossChief 10-07-2013 07:52 PM

Haha. Some of you act like Alex Smith hasn't thrown terrible passes.

He has thrown AT LEAST 5 passes that defenders straight dropped. All quarterbacks make mistakes.

Also...

When a defense has to defend the whole field because of the opposing quarterbacks ability to throw it anywhere with good velocity...that leads to wide open receivers all day.

That's the point.

I hope Alex can continue to step up in critical times and trust himself to attack deep more and more. If he does, that's what will get us into the picture.

I'm pulling for Alex to do these things, but I can't lie and say it doesn't suck watching Geno sling that pig and think what could have been.

9er guy 10-07-2013 07:52 PM

They fear Geno! They need those points!

Dylan 10-07-2013 07:52 PM

great move by Andy to hire Bob Sutton.

Is it actually an answerable question? I have no clue.

He excelled in college throwingt he ball to areas we throw it to a lot. Maybe he doesn't throw as many picks, etc. I dunno. I don't really care either way and I never argued that we would be better with geno.

Just that team record isn't always indicative of qb play, the way people want to use it

TLO 10-07-2013 07:53 PM

Tony gets the INT call.

1 second left in the half.

LiveSteam 10-07-2013 07:53 PM

I suppose it would lose something if the Falcon fans flew a banner around the stadium.

siberian khatru 10-07-2013 07:54 PM

You haven't been able to run against them all night, and you call that.

-King- 10-07-2013 07:54 PM

Tony G wishes he was in KC.

cdcox 10-07-2013 07:54 PM

BigCatDaddy 10-07-2013 07:54 PM

This. I wasn't exactly excited to pick up Smith and pass on Geno, but Alex has proven me wrong so far. Takes care of the ball and is clutch when we need him to be. Some of you need to just enjoy the ride or get the **** off. We're 5-0 and it's fun again.

The guy has been a turnover machine up to this point though and IMO, his ball placement hasn't been as consistent as it was at wvu

Don't worry, BossChief assured us last week that Geno is the next Peyton Manning. They both had a ton of turnovers after 4 games, so the rest of their careers will surely be equal.

That is the problem for the Falcons. They just couldn't execute. With that play, you could also faintly hear the roaring laughter from the Saints' fans, the Buc's fans, and the Panthers' fans.
