But this defense is easily at its most dynamic when it's getting push push up the middle. Honestly, I think that's the only way to beat these 'spread' style quick-passing offenses.

I'd take Gerald McCoy over Bowman every single time. There's just no replacement for an interior pass rush from your down lineman. Whatever plan the QB has goes out the window immediately.

Hence, why sorter first, then myself, thought Sheldon should have been the pick at 1.

Or star.

Sports radio guys were pissed about the flag on that hit but honestly, that's more of a penalty in my eyes than most of the time that flag gets thrown.

The 'head' rule actually says 'head or neck' and that's clearly a shoulder into Bree's neck. That could've done as much/more damage than any of those hits up high and Brooks made no effort at all to get below the shoulderpads.

That was a good penalty, IMO.

I liked Floyd, but only because I hate Sheldon Richardson the person.

Taking off my Mizzou hat, the argument for him at #1 was pretty strong.

Well, obviously, cause the person that is Sheldon Richardson is garbage.

The player on the other hand is a different story.

It looked worse in live action, vicious hit. The only one that would rival it is when the Redskins yanked Peyton Manning's head back and damn near ripped it off. Look it up on you tube if you haven't seen it. Ironically enough Gregg Williams was the Skins DC at the time, hmm?

He's a DE for them but he will move inside in passing situations fairly frequently.

This is how good Tom Brady is: the Panthers don't have a single pass defensed tonight.

AussieChiefsFan 11-18-2013 10:02 PM

Chiefs love.

Hammock Parties 11-18-2013 10:05 PM

The Broncos-Pats game is gonna be really interesting.

The Pats have hit their stride on offense. They're going to put up points next week.

kcpasco 11-18-2013 10:05 PM

Where are all the articles about the Panthers being frauds?

I thought all teams with good defenses and mediocre to sub par offenses were frauds.

Keep away from the neck/head area if you don't want an NFL book rule penalty. Brees was a standing statue in the pocket - Brooks could have grabbed him lower.

The 49ers act as if that penalty lost them the game. It did not. They had a series of mistakes at the end of the game. Gore drops a ball that could have went for a TD - Sproles fair catch was missed by a 49ers special team's player. And Kaepernik jumping out of bounds on a third down play giving the Saints 35-40 more seconds on the clock.

49ers are the whiniest team in the NFL. They are so annoying.

Game clock will still run if his forward momentum had already been stopped. But I didn't see that particular play.

Pepe Silvia 11-18-2013 10:15 PM

I would be furious if I had to miss a football game because of apple picking. lol

Sorter 11-18-2013 10:17 PM

Probably best they scored, rather than pushing them out within the 10.

Pepe Silvia 11-18-2013 10:17 PM

Wow, Newton almost ended it with a pick 6.

DaFace 11-18-2013 10:17 PM

Well, this is fun. Time to see if Brady still has some 4th quarter magic.

I wanted to say ballgame after that TD but you can never count out Brady with a minute left.

It was a standard QB running out of bounds avoiding much contact type of run. He stiff armed a guy that was to his side as he stepped out.

If I can sneak into the playoffs in league 2, with Megatron, Harvin and Ginn, I might be a little scary. Too bad my QBs (Schaub/Keenum) are pretty weak.

Dylan 11-18-2013 10:20 PM

did they ever put the 3 seconds back on the clock? I am not sure if they did.

I would think zone would have prevented that TD - guess not

Brady has the magic.

The question is whether or not his young receivers respond.

minute to win it

Pass rush is the 2nd most important thing in football... you're seeing why right here. Honestly it might be 1B behind QB play. Defense always wins when you can hit the QB.

Bambi 11-18-2013 10:23 PM
