I've never set foot in the town, but I like looking at residential real estate as a hobby, and Wichita has to be one of the cheapest metro-sized housing markets in the country. If I ever need to relocate to a cheaper market in retirement, I'd give Wichita a look.

As an example, I went out on Realtor.com and picked houses for the sale in the 2500 to 2750 square foot range, and then found the median price.

Here's Wichita's median for $355,000. https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...=srp-list-card

Here's Denver's median for $879,000. https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...=srp-list-card

Old fat harry guys walking into the breakfast area who had been banging each other all night. One guy was wearing his cock ring with leather straps as suspenders. It was disgusting. You couldn't have paid my wife to take a dip in that pool with all the frolicking men. Ewwww.......

Don’t worry…I plan to add some sophistication to the metropoilitan area a few times this year.

Old Town isn't terrible but there's not a lot in Wichita

Tallgrass film festival is pretty decent

I ate an assload of mushrooms and went with my friends to club rodeo which was simultaneously one of the worst and one of the best decisions I've ever made

I saw filter at one of the bigger clubs and it wasn't packed

It just so happened that there was some gay pride shit going on that weekend. Pulled into the hotel parking lot and the wife was like "look at all those towels." I didn't know until she informed me they were all rainbow gay pride towels. She was going to hang by the pool while I golfed, but the pool was full of the gays so she passed on that. We did go down town and ate at some local brewery type place. Must have been a car show because all these cool cars kept cruising by. The gay thing left a weird view of the place on my psyche.

Played a tournament in Windfield that year as well. Those places are not the same.

Sand Creek Plays Well.

Hopefully Wichita doesn’t get as deep in you as it did Mephisto. Have a blast while you’re here :thumb:

I do know one thing I’ve found that Wichita has to offer….the most insane Uber drivers.

I did find a place called the larkspur? To be pretty good and that Angelo’s and the monarch? Were nice lunch spots.

I painted vintage beer logos at the Chicken n Pickle there.

Your needing to conjure up the mental image of rape as a deflection of what I said, which is all truth, says everything that needs to be said about Wichita.

Iowanian... if you wanna get a beer with threebag while in Wichita, you can find him on the corner of Broadway and Pawnee doing work to afford his next fix.

Wichita has some nice golf courses. Once you get away from the drug corridor and the biker gangs it ain’t bad

BWillie 01-27-2024 11:40 PM

They have a hot mayor.

In my experience, anyplace is what you make out of it. There are many nice golf courses in Sedgwick County, both public and private.
Lots of bowling alleys if you are looking for a fun activity for all seasons.
Wichita has a drag strip that is opening back up for it's 60th season after being closed last year.
If you are fond of circle burners, dirt track racing, 81 speedway is there for you.
Plenty of pool and dart action around the city if you are so inclined.

Hey... found another cool thing to do in Wichita. You can go visit Jackie Robinson's feet!

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Overnight, <a href="https://twitter.com/League42ICT?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@League42ICT</a> Jackie Robinson statue at McAdams Park was stolen. Someone cut it just above Jackie&#39;s shoes and hauled it off in a truck. Our community is devastated. <a href="https://t.co/MWbJvwga0k">pic.twitter.com/MWbJvwga0k</a></p>&mdash; Wichita Police (@WichitaPolice) <a href="https://twitter.com/WichitaPolice/status/1750621088894099746?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 25, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

OR... you can visit burned chunks of Jackie Robinson at Garvey Park!

How ****ing fitting that citizens of Wichita would lynch a god damned statue? What are the chances that someone just really hates little league baseball and didn't mean something else with this act?

Go work the straw and make that sweat drip out of every pore!
