Probably because it wasn't their debut album.

Pablo 04-09-2015 04:07 PM

The Slim Shady LP was pretty legit.

I loved Puddle of Mudd's debut album "Come Clean". Sadly after that the band became a big turd.

Collective Soul. All the songs still sound great.

Prob have to go with Van Halen. They changed the entire music scene in the 80's.

I dislike rap at this time, but I have to admit... that album was legit.

IMO, the best Rap debut for me would either be one of these two:

Bob Dylan and Great should never be used in the same sentence.

I ****ing loathe that no-talent hack.

I'd rather listen to a Boy Band.

His voice makes me want to kick puppies.

Coochie liquor 04-09-2015 07:02 PM

Also the self titled Suicidal Tendencies debut was special to me. Lots of classic songs on there. I Saw Your Mommy, Institutionalized, Facist Pig, Possessed.
And Mad Season. What an amazing album that was!!

tredadda 04-09-2015 07:07 PM

Personally I would have to say

Appetite for Destruction
Slippery When Wet
Hybrid Theory.

His voice took a hike polyps or something I cant remember. His music crosses generations and when other groups do his songs you sit back and say that dude could write. He once had a decent voice example Lay Lady lay pre polyps I'm sure.
Without Dylan we dont hear Jimi do All Along the Watch Tower or Clapton record a reggae version of Knocking on Heavens Door and the list goes on.

Tough one.

Boston has to be one to consider.
Van Halen...
But, and this might be a little weird... but I'll always have a soft spot for Meat Loaf and "Bat Out of Hell".

For me, influential debut albums:

The Ramones first album
Never Mind the Bollocks - Sex Pistols
My Aim Is True - Elvis Costello
REM-Gardening At Night
Gin Blossoms - New Miserable Experience
David Lindley - El Rayo X
Chris Whitley - Living With The Law

These are just ones that come immediately to mind.

I like you more and more.
