But Ned homers will remind us that:

1) There's nothing to worry about (there never is)
2) All we need is pitching (maybe)
3) It's a long season

The rest of us will ponder how to fix what we see is obviously broken (a weak offense), while the aforementioned Ned homers will be happy with quality losses.

Sure. Google Alex Rios espn and click on stats and then peruse his career. Anything else?

petegz28 07-02-2015 08:30 PM

Can we please, please, PLEASE bring him around?

Yeah, he has been an average player with a few above average seasons. Comparing him to Heyward is absurd.

alnorth 07-02-2015 08:30 PM

I'm calling it right now, Infante will cross the plate and tie the game...

... or not. OK, Dyson will do that

petegz28 07-02-2015 08:31 PM

dyson has to steal here...

This is the same weak offense that got us to the WS last season.
It's not easy to have good pitching when just over half of our rotation is now healthy.

petegz28 07-02-2015 08:31 PM

if you don't send Dyson here I don't know why you brought him in....

I have. But, we aren't comparing Heyward now with Rios five years ago. It is painfully obvious which one is better now.

Not saying the pitching doesn't suck right now, but too few people are calling-out our offense as an equal problem (even if they took us to the WS last year).

We were talking about track records.
You said Heyward was actually a great player. He has never been a great player. He had one good year in 2012.

I don't really care about track records. If I did, I would still have Ibanez.

petegz28 07-02-2015 08:47 PM

We're done...1-0 loss

4th straight loss
lose a game to the Twins in the standings
lose to the Twins in our house

what a ****ed up day it has been

GloryDayz 07-02-2015 08:48 PM

We make any opposing pitcher look great.

C3HIEF3S 07-02-2015 08:48 PM

This would be a nice time for Gordon to do what he did last year: hit a 2-run walk off homer to win the game 2-1. Did it vs the Twins last season.

Hootie 07-02-2015 08:48 PM

Also, if the ump is gonna call that 2 seamer a strike against lefties you might as well just not even try

suzzer99 07-02-2015 08:48 PM

Every Gibson pitch has been within a few inches of the edge of the strike zone. Just brutal.

Chiefs Pantalones 07-02-2015 08:49 PM

This has been painful to watch. Awful.

Yup. Tough to hit when the pitcher is consistently working the bottom of the zone on the black.

baitism 07-02-2015 08:52 PM

Anyone else think it's kind of ****ed up the Twins made this guy play his first MLB game as a DH?

Al Bundy 07-02-2015 08:55 PM

Looks like we have managed to get 4 pitchers in a row that are superior to any pitcher we trot out.

What an utterly brutal game to watch

petegz28 07-02-2015 08:58 PM

this is going to be our 7th shutout of the season I do believe ...and 2nd in 3 games....

Al Bundy 07-02-2015 08:58 PM

and before one of you give this Gibson guy "all" of the credit.. there were plenty of runs to be scored.. the offense just flat out sucked dick tonight.
