I can't honestly say I thought about a fries dish from a Mexican place though?
That still seems odd. |

Not sure f it counts but it should, my favorite watering hole Instant Karma has Wednesday night all you can eat bacon to go with $4 pints of craft beer.
You buy a beer or anything else and its all you can eat bacon to go along with it. So 2 pints of beer and all the bacon you can eat for $8. Now that's a deal. |
Double cheese burger basket mayo instead, quart red cream soda, tub of nacho cheese $8.75 Paul's drive in kck (NOT the mo one)

If you are ever in Vegas give Bruxi a try. Chicken and Waffle place, but has more than just chicken and waffles. It's pretty amazing.

It looked like an old club with no windows etc...it was a bar with the absolute best breakfast you could get for dirt cheap. Bloody Mary's were cheap too. It was like stepping into the 70's walking into this place. Fantastic food. Went for breakfast a few times, didn't make it back for dinner like I wanted. |

If you live in KC and can easily access Tortilla Ranch on College and Antioch, you should definitely check it out.
It's like Chipotle times a thousand. Amazingly fresh and super high quality ingredients. The flavors are just... Seriously, just try it. |

I mean KCUnited has already nominated a meal with more alcohol than actual food. This is up that that same alley. |

we rolled to Topeka a few weeks back on the motorcycle with some friends; I wasn't leading, just sort of hanging out in the back of the pack, and we pulled into a place called Bobo's (I think?); tiny litle place like Paul's Drive In.
I really liked it. I had a double cheeseburger, fries, and a soda and it was like $8? Good little spot to hit up. Nothing 'amazing' by any means, but it hit the spot. I'll go back next time I roll through Topeka. |

This is the best burger joint I have ever been to in my life.
The only thing worth living in Spokane for. Plus it's cheap as well. https://www.yelp.com/biz/thrifty-sco...okane-valley-2 Prices from 2011 but I can't bet they've changed much from this. http://i.imgur.com/Q6I1XV8.jpg |

Just to be sure it's on the list, Chick Fil A Nuggets combo:
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9LQdzOCjwO...-A+12-3-12.JPG According to some random site, the cost for a 12-piece combo meal with waffle fries and Dr. Pepper and polynesian sauce is $9.88. We're talking about 950 calories. |
Did anyone say 20 jack in the box tacos yet?

I think Denny's the tip would put you over 10. Zman sandwhich or KC joes gumbo

How does this eventually become a tourney? Most of us have no way of trying the various delicacies presented here Not trying to crap on your idea at all, TB... it was a fine idea that blossomed into a great 'diners, drive-ins and dives' thread Just glad I'm not the one trying to turn it into a good tournament :D |

As far as voting, I'm gonna do my best to get solid pics of each dish from yelp or elsewhere, and folks will have to vote based on what looks best for the price listed. I agree that this turned into a solid food thread. I know I'll be referencing it from time to time when we're traveling. |
Chicken Teriyaki Bowl at Pei Wei for $8.99 is pretty good.

Anything at Holy Land in Lenexa. They are behind taco bell off I-35 on 87th st. One of the best eats in the SW Joco corridor, and they are stypid cheap at lunch. My favorite dish is the schwarma combo.

The place is closed now, but back in the mid-90s there was a "Dairy Mart" in my town that had a "Firefighter Special" for $5, including tax. It was a triple cheeseburger, two extra large sides, and a 32-ounce drink. The burgers and sides were really good, and huge. The burger probably was 14 oz. in meat. And their sides included kickass onion rings and okra. That place was awesome.

Panchos Takos, Puerto Vallarta
My wife and I ordered: 4 al pastor, 4 chorizo, 3 beef and bacon, queso fundido, and 4 beers and 2 waters. $18. So I figure that qualifies as less than $10 pp. Best meal of our trip (even the $220 one) https://i.imgur.com/YIanJZk.jpg http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/blob:...acaf39e8c5.jpg http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/blob:...d-bcacaf39e8c5 |

This will give you an idea what to expect. Chicken Shawarma is a good way to try it at home but it's basically a Indian wrap. Very tasty. 2lb /1 kg chicken thigh fillets , skinless and boneless Marinade 1 large garlic clove , minced (or 2 small cloves) 1 tbsp ground coriander 1 tbsp ground cumin 1 tbsp ground cardamon 1 tsp ground cayenne pepper (reduce to 1/2 tsp to make it not spicy) 2 tsp smoked paprika 2 tsp salt Black pepper 2 tbsp lemon juice 3 tbsp olive oil prep marinade and soak chicken in fridge for 24 hours then grill. serve sliced on warm flatbread with yogurt sauce and typical salad stuff for filling, |
For under $10, the early bird special at Texas Roadhouse from 4-6 for 7.99 I think... The chicken fried chicken and order two sides. Mashed potatoes and corn. have them put the mash potatoes on top of the chicken fried chicken, then the corn on top of that, and then chicken gravy over it all.... It taste great and is more than you can usuallly eat...
