DJ says Mahomes frustrates the defense all the time in practice?

BTA, look at our defense!

Demonpenz 11-19-2017 05:57 PM

Mahomet should watch in the sideline the entire season so he gets the full magnitude how the franchise sucks.

Which QB do you want getting playoff experience? Which one has already reached his ceiling?

The time is now, simple as that.

But they won't, because Chiefs.

Because that’s how it works. Listen I came here an alex fan after the benching fiasco and enjoyed seeing Alex play peak ball at the beginning of the season. I like several afc teams as a fan of the sport and chiefs are top of the list. If this was madden with no repercussions then you make the swap. But there’s relationships built and alex is the leader of the team and Andy prob wants to see alex try to fight through the down part of the season and make a push and run. I don’t think it will happen and it’s not just because of Alex. The play calling, running game, oline and defense as a whole is seriously lacking. Alex isn’t going to overcome it. I wanna see mahomes play myself.

Red Dawg 11-19-2017 06:31 PM

I didn't see any reason for Smith to be on the team this year and don't see a reason for or him to start any longer. Could Mahomes get the same production from the offense? Yes. Would he make the offense more dangerous? Yes. So why is Alex still starting? There isn't a good reason any more.

KCrockaholic 11-19-2017 06:34 PM

Mahomes is used to having a shitty defense from TT. Andy Reid talked about urgency, and Alex doesn't bring that.

Andy won't don't but there is really no reason for Smith to start after the wat he's played for over a month. I really doubt the other players would be shocked and appauled.

Spott 11-19-2017 06:51 PM

Every snap Alice takes is a complete waste of time. The guy has been in the league for 13 years and he’s not going to just wake up one day and be a franchise QB. Might as well put in Mahomes to play against a softer schedule at the end of the year so he can develop and we can see how good he really is. The rest of the team would probably start playing better immediately.

The only reason I watch at this point is because I dont want to miss Mahomes first snaps if Alex smith gets hurt or benched.

NWTF 11-19-2017 07:12 PM

I dont think it will happen this season. The hot start put the Chiefs near the top of the playoff race from the outset and I think Reid just wants to get in and see what he can come up with then. That playoff position is shrinking weekly but Reid thinks hes smarter than his counterparts and will simply out scheme them despite the deficiencies in personnel. I think hed prefer to stick with the known entity at QB over the unknown at this point and squeeze out enough wins to make the playoffs, and given the state of the division thats very likely, as is a one and done.

Mahomes is the future of Chiefs football, but I dont think Andy is ready to start it yet.

Never thought I would read these comments from you after all of the facepalming you gave me at nearly every post I made back in July and August suggesting Thanksgiving would be a good time to make a change.

'course I thought we would be 5-5 right now. Had us losing to the Patriots and the 4 that we have lost... and thought the Bills at home would be a good time to roll with Mahomes!

This team isn't winning anything this year, with or without Mahomes. They need to trust their evaluation. It's not just about if Mahomes is better than Smith; they also need to ascertain if he is ready and if his issues have been corrected to the point where they won't reappear once he is in game action.

What a bunch of pansyassed twats in this thread.

Start Mahomes, period.

If he’s “not ready”, the Chiefs ****ed up thier evaluation.

PS - They didn’t. Start him.

First time since 2012 that I'm not PUMPED for the next Chiefs game. And it's all because I know #11 will be taking snaps. I want to see Mahomes in there so bad.

Yes, the last time I've been this bored for a Chiefs game was before our week 17 blowout loss in Denver where Quinn started and Crennel "coached."

Totally get your point but did the Texans really think Watson was thoroughly ready, did the Bears think Trebisky was thoroughly ready and did the Cowboys really think Prescott was ready? I’m sure all of them would say no. The Texans and the Bears still had a choice to keep their original starters in. Granted the Cowboys did not but all three of them probably thought those guys were not ready at the time. But I say get Mahomes in there now we got nothing to lose

Yes. And he proved them right.

Why is Mahomes on the bench?

Reid.

All cock and no balls.

Red Dawg 11-19-2017 09:34 PM

There is no longer an excuse not to start Mahomes. The offense is dead with Smith. Dead dead dead. Has been for over a month.

Gravedigger 11-19-2017 09:45 PM

Either the kid is going to fly or he's not, can't protect him forever. Smith is a professional, he knows the deal he signed up for.

**** him and what he knows. Alex can play, he chooses to be a pussy. I can't stand wasted talent.

No ill will Grave, I am just tired of the vag.

notorious 11-19-2017 09:48 PM

How can Alex sacrifice his body on the excellent runs he made, yet complete puss out on passing when the games on the line?

WhiteWhale 11-19-2017 09:50 PM

Alex is a veteran for which this team runs 30 single read gadget plays and only asks him to drop back and read a defense 10-15 times a game.

Alex spends more time reading defenses on his 1459 option read plays that rarely ever work.

I'd like to see a QB who's not afraid to drop back and pass like an actual, you know, Quarterback. Maybe we can run an offense instead of this gadgety cute college bullshit that even the most shitty of defenses have figured out how to stifle.

Nobody is confusing this team for a contender anymore. The future is now. Put the lame duck to bed.

I hope we don't go down that road again, I don't want drama to surround the kid before he ever starts a game as he already has enough pressure on his shoulders... but that doesn't mean Andy shouldn't make the move.

beach tribe 11-20-2017 12:23 AM

I knew Alex would get comfortable and lose that fire that he had at the beginning of the year.
He had enough fire to get the most out of his talent and be the QB he could have been.
He got that fire just by practicing against Mahomes in TC.

He was too much of a pussy to keep it lit.
He will Never hold that fire in his hands ever again.

Get him the **** out of the way so Mahomes can set the whole ****ing league on fire and burn it to the ground.

Do you want Mahomes practicing/working on his game in the off season, or rehabbing. Not happening this year. Don't break the future for 7 games of garbage.

Yeah they were good in 2011, too.

It was just a damn shame Smith went 1-13 on third down that day. Not his fault.

His performance was unacceptable. Didn't matter if it was the 1985 Bears. Smith played so terribly.

How anyone can't want Mahomes to play at this point is beyond my comprehension. The offense is completely dead. Smith can't win.

KINGPIN CHIEFS FAN 11-20-2017 07:40 AM

Everybody on the team has lost confidence in Alex, they know he doesn't have the ability or the desire to be a leader. Once Mahomes is installed as the quarterback the whole team will be transformed and start running through brick walls to help him succeed. It will be like a snowball rolling downhill. A true leader makes the people around him perform better, Alex does not possess this quality. It's time to start the next chapter in the Chiefs legacy. Alex Smith needs to be removed as the starter and let him spend his last days as a Chief holding a clipboard.
