As a fan...I wanted KC to nab a stud RB at #32. I didn't think they would do it but next season will be entertaining..

This guy is perfect for Reid's offense....

Not his entire career but yes, I've seen him play. More than I've seen CEH.

Not even close. CEH runs a lot like Barry Sanders IMHO. Priest didn't have the speed, quickness nor cutting ability this kid has. Priest had the ability to glide behind a HOF line and read the holes very well. This kid is a "muscled up" Tyreek Hill and that is a very good thing.:thumb:

Yeah...he looks nothing like Holmes. How can this guy be a scout?

I thought of Sanders when watching his highlights too ....seemed to have that 6th sense on where defenders inertia was carrying them. That cant be taught...

I think he's going to be a star...especially in this offense.

Bump 04-23-2020 11:12 PM

this is a fine pick after watching some videos (extensive research, I know).

RB was a concern during the regular season, not during the playoffs though as we all know Damien Williams stepped the **** up in the playoffs and Superbowl. But the regular season it was kind of a dumpster fire for a lot of it.

There's nothing wrong with taking a RB with the last pick in the 1st round and he's going to make some plays for us.

32) Kansas City Chiefs: RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, LSU — The highest-drafted RB in Andy Reid's career goes from a the most explosive offense in college football to the most explosive offense in the NFL. Edwards-Helaire is a compactly built powder keg of a back, and an immediate contributor. This pick is a home run. Grade: A-.

He fumbled on .4 of 1% of his touches last year

Great pick. Yeah, his weakness is pass protection. So what. Mahomes had 14 regular season games last year and only 17 sacks.

Your offense just went from “stupid good” to “best ever?” so enjoy it.

Tape don't lie. He is an electric runner. It's not very surprising that college defenses stood no chance at slowing him down. I really like the pick. Obviously, Veach and Reid must love this kid.

Not even remotely fair.

Frozenchief and haven't taken the same position at all.

I was the first person to say something positive about CEH after he was drafted. Check the draft thread. I haven't slammed anything. I've been fair and balanced in my discussion of the pick.

I realize some people have to be 100% YAH or 100% Boo, but maybe you should try just talking about stuff. Maybe you'll enjoy it.

crazycoffey 04-23-2020 11:36 PM

My first reaction; why offense???? Oh wait not an OL, Ok. Again I say; WHY OFFENSE????

Then I watch some film. And I say; Looks good.... did we really need a RB? And then I remember the chiefs signed shady, mid season, and shady didn’t play the post season. Sooooooooooo, yeah, Andy wants another RB. Now I’m fully in the camp of RB isn’t a bad pick....

Agreed on the video. The angle of those shots really shows how amazing this guy is. It’s hard to imagine his lateral quickness NOT being an incredible addition to this offense. His quickness in the open field is gonna be a lot of fun in an offense that is really really good at getting guys wide the **** open on a regular basis.

I know some people are upset, and some people are happy.

But, to those who are upset, I have to ask, WTF? This isn't a franchise that just randomly picked some dude, or picked a default defensive lineman, like they have been in the past.

This is a franchise that just won the freaking Super Bowl with a QB they traded up to get, with a defensive lineman who they drafted, who is arguably the second best D-linemen in football, with a WR they drafted, all being huge contributors to the Super Bowl win.

If they think a RB from National Champion LSU is the pick to make, great. After the last 2 years why would we even question the pick?

If your team won the Super Bowl, and is returning 20 of 22 starters, and you have the best QB on the planet, why even worry about it?

I’m just glad I’m not crazy.

When I first brought up going RB in Round 1, many people thought I was nuts. I argued for weeks and saw several come around to the idea but there were a lot that did not.

In the end, the Chiefs drafted an immediate impact player that makes this team better immediately.

This offense is going to be insane.

KCWolfpack 04-24-2020 12:08 AM

I like this pick.

The reason: Drafting well is a balancing act between addressing your team's needs and taking the best guy available. Did we have several positions of need? Sure. We could have used an LB; 4 of those were gone by our pick. We could have used a CB; 6 of those were gone by our pick. I could go on.

RB was also a position of need. Was it as big a need as some of the others? Of course not. However, everyone in the draft at that position was still available to us. That's why the pick makes sense to me.

I like what I'm seeing of the tape I see of CEH. I also find it interesting that we went with him as opposed to guys that many of the draft gurus liked better like Taylor, Swift, or Dobbins. Makes me think that maybe Andy and Brett saw something there that others didn't. The result won't be anywhere near the level of the Mahomes pick, of course, but...

Looking forward to seeing him in action.

I’m going out on a limb here. He will be ROY next season

MAHOMO 4 LIFE! 04-24-2020 12:11 AM

He’s like Kareem mixed with Alvin Kamara.

His routes out of the backfield are special. That's a HUGE deal in this offense.

Has anyone talked about notes from our interview with him before the draft?

When I first brought up going RB in Round 1, many people thought I was nuts. I argued for weeks and saw several come around to the idea but there were a lot that did not.

In the end, the Chiefs drafted an immediate impact player that makes this team better immediately.

This offense is going to be insane.

I didnt think you were crazy and still believe Ruiz was in the mix but Veach mentioned he had 6 guys in mind. Once Green Bay traded for Love trading back wasnt a possibility

Being right is why people get mad at you here.

Just sayin'

His forty brothers me a bit. But Hunt also ran in the 4.6's so... we good.

He's a flat out dual threat weapon and he can learn from D Will. Our RB's were running mighty thin late last season. CEH will be a big time player for us.

Anybody that couldn’t see the logic behind RB at 32 is likely closed minded due to stupid rules that they’ve made up.

Reid and Belichick have both taken a RB late in the 1st recently.

It’s clearly not stupid...

He looks like he belongs on the field.

Conventional theory is RB positional value sucks in the first, but I mean when you're picking 32nd who gives a ****. Go wild.
