Here we go. Late games > early games.

Oh man. One final play left.
Holy shit. What a game.
Oh shit. I could see cam running it in to win
Pats are going to win on a Cam run.
Hawks are not winning the SB. This is sad.
You give yourself the option to run now.
Cam is going to run it in and the Pats are going to win.
That 3rd and 1 deep throw is just weird... |
Some sort of run-pass option for Cam here

EDIT: Well **** |
Brady looking bad right now. Pats are better without him but Cam blew it.
Haha.
Lolololol copter
Wow
Take that NE...
Great game.
That was too obvious. Seahawks were all over it.
They put all their eggs in one basket. Needed someone to release into the flat their. Give Cam some options.
Good.
Why do you run Cam there when everyone knows your going to do it?
Can’t believe they didn’t have something to play off of what the Seahawks knew they were going to do to trick them.
Great
Is it weird that I'm happy SEA stuffed the Patsies? I mean, I can't dislike SEA much more than I already do, but . . .

A great way to end the day...

**** the Brother****ing Cheatriots. **** ****ing you.
That's the best thing the Pats do at the goalline.
Way to sell out on the run. |

Seattle lost by passing when they should've ran, now New England loses by running when they should've passed.

I would have spread them out and do some kind of rollout

Who is Jack Collinsworth? Sounds like Chris.

If they keep running Can like that Stidham will be starting sooner than later.
I'm glad Seattle won, or more to the point, I'm glad the Cheatriots lost, but goddamn Pete Carrol is a ****ing moron. 3rd and 1 in that situation and you call a deep pass? Jesus. It's like Wile E. Coyote calling plays out of the ACME playbook.
We should rename the Dumbass Lounge the Pete Carrol Lounge. I'm sure Milkman would approve. |
Patriots played a lot better than I expected. A win would’ve been a nice surprise but honestly I’m just glad they didn’t shit their pants. Optimistic.
Sit and spin, Belichick and Newton!

Either way if our offense is hitting on all cylinders in a couple of weeks, I think Cam will force some throws and our D will get some takeaways |

Belichick burned it to get the game closer. I mean sure, he could've tried it again and maybe he should have, but the Seahawks weren't going to be completely caught off guard by it. (P.S. This is why Andy keeps shit in his pocket when the Chiefs are winning by 17 in the 2nd half. Don't show what you don't have to) |
Quote:
I have no idea why they didn't try that here. I wonder if the thought was that Seattle would've just sold out with a run-blitz regardless of whether or not you put 4 wide and in that event, Newton's hit as he gets the snap. Hard to say why he went that route. I don't think there was even an option pitch available to him. Pretty much relied on his guys in the trenches to out-physical a pretty strong defensive front that also had numerical superiority. |
He should have at least given Cam some kind of option there. It was obvious the Seahawks were gonna be ready for that run.
Quote:
He moved a RB in-line, IIRC. It's possible Newton had the choice of sending him out in the pattern or drag as a potential pitch option and elected not to. |

I thought Edelman got out of bounds but it was hard to tell for sure on the replay. If they used the timeout there with 28 seconds, assuming everything played out the same way, the incompletion took about 6 seconds, then the play that got them to the 1 took 7 seconds. They would've had to spike it which usually takes 10 or 11 seconds. It would've left them with somewhere around 4-6 seconds. MAYBE calling a timeout with 28 seconds would've bought them an extra play. But they thought it was better to run a hurry-up play and it worked. Edelman just didn't catch it.

I think this is just a simple case of McDaniels over-thinking the play. |
As expected, it appears the Patriots upgraded at quarterback. Their defense has fallen off due to opt outs and due to free agency but it is still formidable. They will be a force in the AFC.
Going to Seattle and being a 1 yard play away from winning is nothing to be ashamed of. It was 80% Belichick. 20% Brady. |
