I've heard a lot of chatter on talk radio that the raiders abandoned the two-deep safety scheme that had been so effective against Mahomes and that they allowed Kelce to get a free release rather than jam him for five+ yards that other teams had been doing. I'm not sure if that's entirely true but I would think that the Cowboys will play us similar to other teams (Ten, GB, Buf etc).

It's true the Raiders went back to their single high stuff but not the entire game. The idea that they simply didn't use the cover 2 shell is false. They tried it and Patrick beat it - repeatedly. They scored three TD's in the first half on 9, 10, and 11 plays respectively. I expect the Cowboys to run cover 2. I expect Patrick to pick them apart, just like he did the Raiders. |
Niang not practicing today so it is already trending towards another Wylie at RT game.
|
Cowboys defense looks pretty fraud. They haven't faced a top 10 QB since September.

The Raiders ran cover 2 and cover 3 most of the game and were dropping 7 and 8 deep each play. The reasons it didn't work are varied, but all equate to Chiefs execution. 1. Mahomes being patient and decisive 2. Receivers catching the ball 3. OL playing largely penalty-free football and handling the 3-4 rushers the Raiders were sending 4. Chiefs not turning over the football The Raiders eventually came out of the shell to try and find something that would work and it just didn't. If 1-4 are in line, the Chiefs are going to move the ball and score. |

The only issue with this game is the Chiefs defense. This has the potential to be one of those games where whoever scores last wins. I don't really want a 44-40 game. |

But... Parsons also has very little experience at DE. Kansas City can take advantage of that inexperience. TRAP (wham) TRAP (wham) TRAP (WHAM) Misdirection could also help there. |

I think Wylie will be fine. IMO he struggles with power more than speed.

Dallas has scored 26/game on the road. Two mediocre performances vs average defenses, but also a couple good performances vs good defenses.
I don't like that their offensive line is intact for the first time. KC might need 40 in this one. |

Dont under estimate the Cowboys defense........ They are pretty good......

The Cowboys are no joke on defense, they can get turn overs.... We need to play a clean game to really stand a chance. We cannot give their offense more cracks at us.

Was at that blowout of a game this past Sunday... Jim Beam bar was handing out free high balls up until midway through the 3rd. I didn't see much of the game
|
Our defense has functioned well because of the pressure from the D line.
With their O line healthy, that could be a problem for our entire D. We may have to get creative with some Blitzs. How does Dak do against the Blitz? |
Quote:
The Cowboys pose a ton of issues for us defensively. 1. An offensive line that can buy enough time to allow Dak to get downfield. 2. A running game potent enough to take advantage of light boxes. 3. Speedy receivers who can take the top off, assuming they aren't killing you with crossers underneath. And they have a SET of them, not just 1 guy 4. A mobile QB that can make things happen if the defense somehow wins in items 1-3. The Chiefs defense has always been good at singling in on offenses that are relatively one-dimensional and taking that dimension away. Over the years they've struggled with offenses that feature multiple ways to beat you. They're great at taking away the one thing you do well...but when an offense has multiple things they do well it causes some chaos. |
Cowboys WR core is stupid good too....... And their TE's are not shit either.
|
Micah Parsons likes to play as Mahomes on Madden, Diggs’ kid thinks Dak is Mahomes… #15 is living rent free in their defense’s head.

But common man, we cannot take them lightly. Their defense BEAT the Chargers. This is US one of the most TURNOVER PRONE teams going against one of the teams that has CREATED ALOT of turn overs. Let's not kid ourselves. We are in for a battle, and thank god its in KC. |

Trey Smith in the 6th We're better :D |

The way the chiefs have been turning it over this year plus the way the cowboys defense has, it’s almost guaranteed the chiefs are going to give them one. I’d be willing to bet if you can get a prop bet on the chiefs turnovers in this game the over under is 1.5.
|
Cowboys defense takes chances and is on the soft side. This is the kind of defense that a QB like Patrick can toy with if we play it smart. Trey Smith will cause someone to cry before the night is over. The game will be won or lost on whether our D can contain their running game and force them to pass most of the time.

Ok, so the Cowboys lost at home against the Broncos and won on the road against the Falcons. I'm sorry, I see no fear here - Bridgewater and Matt Ryan. Last time I checked, we had Mahomes. Not worried at all. BEAT THAT COWBOY ASS! Let's do this!

Even if you give them every possible excuse… they were sleepwalking/completely overlooking Denver, Dak was rusty coming back from injury, etc. they were still down at home 30-0 to a mediocre team before adding a few garbage time scores. |
Uh, ok I love the rah rah shit I want to believe.....
But we lost to the Chargers where? Ravens was a fluke Bill we got stomped Titans is equal to the Cowboys/Broncos game Then...... We barely beat two teams one with a QB’s first ever NFL start and one to a shitty team... Yes the Raider game was encouraging. But am I taking crazy pills to be scared shitless of Cowboys offense? |

17 game season has teams just trying to maintain and stay healthy. With only one bye week available, why the hell play balls out? It's stupid if you give it half a thought. The NFL has watered down the product and greed ****ed themselves.
Talking heads and opinions are so thick and varied it's just white noise now. Only social media whores care and their attention span is only until their next hit send. Playoffs, just get in. Sweating anything else may just be boredom. |

Remember when I said I'd get back to you after week 10? *Chuckles* |

Also, lots of other contending team in the league has lost to one of the shitty teams they've played. No style points in the NFL, just wins or losses. The Cowboys do have a very good offense and will probably score in the high 20's to low 30's. But they don't have a great defense and are banged up on that side of the ball. They should be equally afraid of our offense. Honestly, this is a pretty even game which means you look at coaching as a potential difference maker. Andy Reid is a much better coach than Mike McCarthy is. This should be on of the rare games that lives up to the hype. Chiefs 38-Cowboys 35 |
This could be the game Gordon breaks out with 2 or 3 head turning plays.

I hope we take advantage of their D-Line being injured, and Travon Diggs habit of biting on double moves.
And Bolton is going to need a career day bs their amazing running game. Pressure early and often will be key. But Dak is good on the move and their targets are 5-6 deep. If we focus on anything it needs to be their passing game. We need a lot of confusing looks and shell formations. Should be a shoot out. |
Won’t be surprised if we get beat bad in this one. Chiefs need to be able to put consistent pressure on Dak. Like it or not they are loaded offensively.
|
For my money, Dak is better than all of the QBs we’ve faced this season. The Cowboys also have the most complete offensive line.
If Patrick plays like he played last week, and our receivers and running backs execute on that same level, we win. If they don’t, we will lose. |
If this is the first game their starting OL is playing together this season, they may take a little time to gel. Still like our chances unless we turn the ball over.

I'm not afraid of the Cowgirls.

The Chiefs have much work remaining. Seems like every AFC team is 6-4 or 5-5. The Chiefs likely have the worst AFC record among them. So they basically have to play balls out every game going forward. |
We're gonna get housed.
|
I think we're going to see both offenses operate very efficiently, bordering on a shootout. If that's the case, I like the Chiefs in a close one. Something like 28-27 Chiefs.
I like what we did with Kelce last week against the Raiders, having him block, then open up for short catches with YAC potential. They also lined him up in the backfield to guarantee a free release. Kelce is the engine of our offense, so if we can continue on last week's momentum, we're going to see the dominant Chiefs offense of old. Kelce is critical. We can't allow teams to just take him out with jams and double teams. |

I pray to god we play a clean game with zero turnovers. Because giving Dallas extra shots at our defense could sink us easy and early. |
Cowboys were fired up for that game in 2017. Cowboys somewhat dominated except for the Tyreek Hail Mary run through traffic with awesome block by D-Rob and Chiefs taking 17-14 lead in third quarter.
Anthony Hitchens made some plays that game and probably was a factor in Chiefs signing him. Chiefs owe them a dose of payback for that game. It was one of the rare games in Andy era where it seemed uphill all the way for the Chiefs. |
