All we've really learned is Cincinnati's defense deserved to be here while their offensive line absolutely did not.

This is definitely not even a good Alabama team by Alabama’s standards and this game was never competitive.

It's really shitty considering they get whoever they want, have unlimited resources, an NFL coaching staff, and are neck deep at every position. Underachieving.

Speaking of the NCAA, they should significantly reduce the scholarship limit in the FBS which is at 85 while FCS is only 63.

And he probably still is. Hard to look like a 1st round QB when the defensive line is in your lap 1 second after the snap every passing play. Granted, he's choked a couple of throws, but it's largely been a shit show up in front of him. It looks alot like our SB against TB.

With the new rules allowing players to get paid, they never will. It will only get more lopsided for Alabama and the SEC.

It may not, honestly. There's alot bigger schools with much richer alumni than Alabama (last I saw, they were somewhere in the mid-30s in enrollment) which could sway players to go elsewhere, especially the Big 10, PAC 12, and ACC. Not to mention those 3 conferences created a scheduling alliance in August to feature better cross-conference matchups.

We'll see, but there's plenty of other top-tier programs in the country that will benefit.

Yeah it would just end the same way with Alabama, Clemson or on rarer occasions, one of the other upper tier SEC teams winning in the end. Such a wide gulf at the top.

They would have to make it Conference Champions only get in. Without that you'd just end up with more of the same "Traditional" Powers voted in every year. Winning a Conference will no longer mean anything, the SEC will just keep swallowing up all the big traditional football schools and turn CFP into an all SEC Playoff.

Have to root against Harbaugh. He is such a ****ing douchebag.

You pretty much get that already. Cut the list at Notre Dame and that pretty well covers the top conferences and teams. Ohio State will always be up in that mix.

I think the benefit of expansion to 8 is forcing teams to get through one more game. 'Bama caught a break today not facing a much better offensive team. Could they risk doing it 2/3 vs 1/2?

No that’s not it. The NFL is structured in a way that a whole bunch of teams have a legitimate shot at the super bowl. The college game is - and has been for quite awhile - structured so that it’s pretty much an SEC party every damn year. Boring.

I actually have a vested interest in Bama (a Co-PI is there, meaning I technically get a check from there), but that's not why I'm not joining the whining.

GA is the next closest to Bama in the past 10 years, then it drops off a bit to OSU who hovers just around 3 per year.

I think Bama has 2 now, I thought they had a guy just commit. Could be wrong. I'm sure they'll hit 6 or 7 though, there is alot of time yet. Probably know in Feb.

I don't think you can really control that facet, but they get more than their fair share of top recruits and by a relatively wide margin.

The goal of the CFB playoffs is to get the 2 best teams to play for the title and that is what is going to happen. Only Ohio St probably could have hanged with Georgia/Alabama
