No team with a poor pass defense and a crappy OL is going to walk into Arrowhead and prevent the Chiefs from going to the SB. Especially with the momentum they have now and likely a healthier defense.

a coworker of mine just posted on facebook that "the Bengals have never lost an AFCCG"

I dont' think any of the bengals players were alive the last time they won an AFCCG

Well, that's a perfect draw...

Easy 6 01-24-2022 03:44 PM

Honestly not the least bit worried about this, in spite of the recent loss

1) its in KC, not Cincy
2) Burrow and Chase were out of their minds
3) Spags won't leave anyone on an island against Chase again
4) Their raw talent overcame our experience advantage last time, but that won't be the case for the deep playoff noobs again

They're about to get the lesson they should've learned last time

We will win if we play with the same intensity and focus we did against the Bills. Bills are underrated on here -- we beat a hell of a team who was playing their best.

We had the captain of our secondary go down the first drive, missed a FG and Xpt, and left pts on the field. It shouldn't have been anywhere near as close as it was but...

They're a damned good team. They're a better team than the Bengals or whatever NFC team we'll curb stomp in the SB...

Bengals D better realize it ain't Ryan Tannehill who will be coming out of that tunnel in Arrowhead and Burrow although somewhat mobile ain't no Josh Allen in the scrambling and running department either.

I heard Mark Schlereth give HUGE PROPS to the Chiefs D-line and edge rushers this a.m. on The Fan here in Denver. Someone asked him if Burrow and his offense will have the same success as Allen did last night. He said, "No way, when you just look at the Chiefs D-line and edge rushers last night and how they pressured Allen all night, if the QB isn't named Allen the Chiefs defense would have had numerous sacks all night. Burrow ain't Allen in the scrambling and running department and the Chiefs D line "should" wreak havoc all game".:thumb:

Yeah I've seen CP complaining about pressure but I thought our guys were in the backfield plenty last night. On the 4th and 4 they made him go back about 15 yards and he still picked it up, barely.

That's what I saw as well. Allen just has that big body Elway escapability with more speed.

Kinda sucks for the Bengals and Bills to finally find upper echelon QBs…only to have someone else in the same conference find a better one around the same age.

The better QB doesn't always win. Ask the Packers. Bengals and Bills will get theirs, just not this year, at least for the Bills.

Wut? Rodgers has always been an underperformer in the playoffs. He's barely even relevant to the discussion.

0 to 1, but that one Rodgers has came over a decade ago. Been pretty consistently mediocre to shit since then in the playoffs. They're both scrubs in this conversation.

Recently I'd say more than Rodgers. Since 2017 when Garoppolo became the starter he's 4-1 in the playoffs. Rodgers is 2-3 just for comparisons sake.

Ya Garoppolo really sealed that win with his 11 completed passes for 131 yards and 0 TDs and 1 INT. Way to go Garoppolo. Really out played Rodgers on this day. Managing that Special Teams victory to perfection.

Sassy Squatch 01-24-2022 07:11 PM

Rodgers managed 20/29 for 225. Wouldn't say he accomplished much of anything either. They were both pretty dogshit.

ThyKingdomCome15 01-24-2022 07:12 PM

Chiefs betting line opens at -7? No love for CIN. I'm not worried either. They almost cost us hosting the AFCCG for the fourth straight year. Now it's time for them to die on an epic scale. They have an excellent WR core and an awesome QB but that's it. There's some key injuries since our last meeting as well.

Nah, they've got quite a few building blocks on defense as well. Hendrickson, Wilson, and Bates is a damn solid core to build around.

On paper he should be. Easily so. But as I already stated he's been severely underperforming in the playoffs recently so it's kind of a moot point in that discussion.

Its the Bengals. They were getting blown out in KC the first time til the refs started airing out their dirty laundry and calling twice as many penalties on the Chiefs.

They just got the least whistle happy crew in the league.

There's a reason why they opened at -7. They are a good team and have some building blocks but they just barely beat the Titans because Tannehill threw his 3rd INT on their way to victory. The Bengals gave up 9 sacks. They aren't ready for the Chiefs.

The Chiefs offensive line will be better this time. When Chiefs played Bengals on Jan 2, The Chiefs were missing Orlando Brown at left tackle with a pre-game calf tightening. Six plays into the game, substitute left tackle Lucas Niang went down with a knee injury. The Chiefs had to play with Joe Thuney at left tackle, Nick Allegretti at left guard, and Andrew Wylie at right tackle. The makeshift line did ok, but having the regulars in there will help.

Wilson8 01-24-2022 08:53 PM

We just played each other on January 2nd. This time Andy Reid, Eric Bieniemy, and Steve Spagnuolo will be even better prepared. The Bengals won 34 – 31 earlier. This time the Chiefs revenge will be sweet.

Wilson8 01-24-2022 08:56 PM

This game will be played at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, not Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. I think Joe Burrow is going to find Arrowhead louder than SEC stadiums,

If the Bengals have a weakness it's their OL. Spags must exploit this . Let Sorenson blitz from every angle on every play.

If Ingram and Reed play like they did against the Bills, we should be able to get pressure with 4 consistently. Jones on Adeniji is a HUGE mismatch that we need to exploit as often as possible.

Mahomes should walk on to the song Spirit Crusher by Death

Cincy is definitely a worse team than Buffalo, but I'm aghast that some of you guys are calling this game an afterthought.

We definitely win this one, but I wouldn't be surprised if this game stays close.

Yeah, from reading the forum, you'd think we're the 1989 49ers and are winning every playoff game by 30+

It may not be as stressful as Buffalo, but I don't expect a Steelers repeat either.

The Super Bowl will also be no walkover.

We need to focus on Chase.

I say stick anyone like Hughes/Baker on him and just instruct them to press, fight, beat on him all game.

Throw another guy over the top for the double. I want Chase to get the Randy Moss treatment.

Make them beat us with someone else.

Higgins gets Sneed. Sneed can run with him and physically fight him for contested catches.

Don't send too many, get there with your base 4 and play coverage.

Make a few stops and Mahomes will do the rest.

I’m very glad we just recently played them and lost. No overlooking them and especially no surprises at what Chase can do.

Hughes would help the team the most if he just stays home. He is one of the worst CB's of all time that has wore Red- Mighty Mouse bad.

In the Jan 2 Chiefs Bengals game, DT Larry Ogunjobi had 4 tackles, 1 TFL, and 2 QB hits. He is now on IR. 01/17

Side Note - Right after that game Larry Ogunjobi was put on the Reserve/COVID-19 list

Forget blitzing, the defensive line needs to dominate Cincy’s shitty offensive line early and often.

Chris Jones needs to be in beast mode.

Need Matheiu back. Bills took advantage of him leaving the game. This chart says it all

Yeah I don't think you blitz the Bengals gotta get home with 4 were gonna need some extra coverage.

This was as of November

Joe Burrow has a 128 passer rating vs. the blitz and a 99 passer rating when he's not blitzed. He's been blitzed 28.3% of the time this year in total, yet 40% of his TDs are against the blitz, while 90% of his turnover worthy plays came when not blitzed

Yeah Spags please. Don't blitz Burrow often. Or just don't blitz him at all.

I’m rewatching the first meeting between these 2. First thing that stands out is that Zeus was out. Niang started at LT, got hurt early in the first quarter. Allegretti took over at LT.
