How do you go into the draft with 8 draft picks in the first 4 rounds and trade up in the first and manage to leave the 3rd round without a single good player. It's astounding.

Listen guys Skyy Moore has an insane 10 yard time. His acceleration is incredible. His 4.41 time is good. He’s got the biggest hands in the draft.

He also was 2nd in best drop rate but that’s with MORE targets than Pickens (sue to his injury). He’s played football for 3 years and can run very crisp routes. He’s really good.

This isn’t Donnie Avery, Mecole Hardman or Albert Wilson. This guy is legitimately good at almost everything. And most guys aren’t.

He’s gonna be a damn good weapon here

I agree with that. Thank you. :thumb:

This seems like a not so subtle reference to what the Chiefs were lacking at WR last year…

Makes some sense. How many Mahomes INTs were due to balls that should have been caught?

Perhaps not the fastest guy, but I'm not happy he is a Chief.

Plus look at Andy Reid's history... this is what I always say when people complain about passing over DK. I mean yeah it'd be great to have Metcalf but Reid has no problem with small WRs. It's just part of the deal when you have Andy Reid.

Desean Jackson, Maclin, Tyreek. I think Skyy Moore was one of the most Andy Reid-type WRs in the draft. A guy with quickness who can get separation. He's going to be a fit in Reid's offense.

You can watch 5 minutes of these players and realize they are not worth where they were drafted.

BossChief 04-29-2022 08:39 PM

I was prepared for Skyy to be the pick at 30…getting a guy like him at 54 is incredible.

And they don’t need to rush him onto the field. They can work him in as the season progresses snd into the playoffs he should be ready to contribute in a larger role.

This pick is going to be HUGE.

He’s a perfect fit.

This wasn’t a reach for need. It’s exactly where he should’ve gone. Some had him going as early as the 1st.

His family seems slightly stoked he's going to catch passes Mahomes. His mom (assuming) looks like she's about to start speaking in tongues.

Eleazar 04-29-2022 09:27 PM

Seems not only like an Andy Reid guy, but like a guy who resembles the transition our offense is in to more versatility in the way we can move the football. A chain mover, great hands, runs good routes, wins contested balls.

Great spot for him too, not very often a WR can drop into a situation where he's playing for an elite QB and the WR2 spot is right there for the taking, and he can get a lot of snaps right away.

BWillie 04-29-2022 09:33 PM

This guy is a ****ing dynamite pick. He WILL he productive and is the perfect fit for the Andy Reid offense. Will be a monster on intermediate routes and churn our 1st downs while having big play ability.

This coming from someone who did NOT like the Hardman pick because Hardman doesn't have the skills or ability to run good routes and make good enough cuts.

BWillie 04-29-2022 09:34 PM

He's going for 800 yards THIS year and is going to make Mecole Hardman sad.

ToxSocks 04-29-2022 09:35 PM

Im sure the kid will be productive, he's got Reid and Mahomes. But goddamn id love to see Mahomes for once get a good, large catch radius reciever (that can stay healthy) on the outside.

We don't really run that type of offense. It would take a new coach and scheme IMO.

Juju and Scantling have that covered, throw in Hardman with this newby and thats a pretty damn dynamic foursome... with a near perfect blend of size and speed/quicks IMO

You got a generational talent, you have 12 draft picks and you dont get him a WR1 or a RB1. .If Kelce gets hurt its a wrap for the Chiefs and Mahomes. . .

Where I'm coming from; . . . of course, I mourn the loss of Tyreek, but I wasn't demanding his exact replacement [mostly because I don't think it can be replicated].

A big Mike Evans type would have been nice, but this shapes up to fill that Calvin Ridley hole I was pining for and rueing his life decisions taking him out of the mix for acquisition.

I gotta feeling this is someone who is going to be where Mahomes wants him and expects him, and he'll start to rely on that, and start to enjoy being able to put his passes in arm's reach and trusting the hands will bring them down.

I like Moore’s quickness in routes. He has the lateral agility to create separation and that’s what we need. He creates more space than the other wrs in this range. I like the pick. Great value and skyy is a fit. Guys like pickens and Tolbert are not a fit for what we need. The chiefs don’t prefer guys who can’t create separation in breaks or route running. He also has huge hands and catches the ball well. Too many of our wrs have tipped passes up that have been picked and moores reliable hands should help prevent that.

And we picked up a 5th that I hope we use on a rb! Come on down kevin Harris!

Veach made it sound like we MAY use the 5th to move up in the fourth

Sky Moore bbhhhahhaaaaaaaaa

Just because the receiver you wanted was not drafted does not mean Breticahel Vorleone is wrong unless you have really good scouts. You should sleep with the fishes.

Chris Meck 04-30-2022 12:07 AM

So, I was sleeping on this guy.

I mean, not literally.

But you know, like over the winter, as I was looking at mocks, and comparing measurables and stuff.

And I saw 4.4 at 5'9" or 5'10" or whatever and you know, after having a couple of guys that size that run 4.2-somethings that just doesn't stand out.

and his tape is full of him just clowning like...Eastern Uganda State Technical College or whatever.

BUT-when you look at the 10 yard splits...that is ELITE quickness. And part of why he's clowning these guys is because he does run a tidy route. And he's very sudden.

someone back several posts had some testing comps with Antonio Brown, and I think that is a good goal for Moore-minus all the rapey shit. Oh, and the nutbag shit, too.

I was thinking bigger, fast, physical guys; guys that will take over for Juju in '23 as he will almost certainly be taking a big payday elsewhere.

But this'll do. This'll do just fine.

BossChief 04-30-2022 12:11 AM

He will line up correctly

He will run the right route, and be extremely detail oriented in his approach to route running.

He will get separation from defenders

He will catch the passes thrown to him

He will break tackles with the ball in his hands

Mahomes will trust him almost immediately and go to him often after about mid season.

But here? It make sense, and the value is fine.

Chief Fan decided he didn't like him weeks ago. Literally nobody understands it.

BWillie may not have, but considering I live in Michigan... yes, yes I have.

And it's not like they aren't on the TV man. I mean, they do play in the MAC, it's not like Western is a ****ing community college in Guam. I'm guessing you haven't said this type of shit about players from Northern Illinois, Toledo, Buffalo, and the like. You know, those schools in their conference.

Is it impossible for a player to be really good from a school that isn't in the Power 5?

**** dude, I get bitching about a guy if you have some really bonafide concerns but he was outstanding against his competition, is athletically "normal" for the position with some elite elements, and has no major red flags (medical, intellect, personality, legal, etc). You're acting like he doesn't belong in the league because he played at Western Michigan. That's silly. I guess someone should tell the Saints Trevor Penning is going to suck ass and shouldn't have been the 19th overall pick because he played in the same conference.

And that some of the best WRs over the last decade played against simular opponents. Antonio Brown, Adams come to mind. Hell, Tyreek played against a bunch of trash cans.

It doesn't make a ****.

I think this is right. Ceiling probably isn't Brown but it's a damn good player, and I honestly think the floor is a good, cheap slot to replace Juju next year. There's value in that, maybe not at 30, but definitely at that pick. Obviously he could bust and be a Powell type but I think it highly unlikely.

I feel like I was on the bandwagon for him early when he was a R2 or R3 guy, and a little less pumped taking him in the first. Does he have the ceiling of Pickens? No. And maybe we'll regret not staying put, Steelers seem to know their WRs. But I reckon we'll be happy with what we've got.

JPH83 04-30-2022 03:04 AM

Also very glad we didn't pick someone like Pierce.

SKY MOORE NFL DRAFT BUZZ SCOUTING REPORT: "Incredible top speed...rare suddenness...lighting footwork...elusive shiftiness...excellent route runner"

Spoiler!

louie aguiar 04-30-2022 07:10 AM

I can’t get over how ballsy that trade-down was if Moore was the guy all along. We traded from 50 to 54 and three receivers were picked in that space. I guess Veach had a backup plan in the event Moore didn’t fall to us (maybe the TE McBride)

Rainbarrel 04-30-2022 07:11 AM

His immediate role is to be scout team Russ Wilson
