New Orleans would be good. They hate the Bucs, would get more Chiefs fans that way.

The offense seems to struggle inside a dome.

We put up 44 points in Arizona

Mahomes is currently 7-1 in domed stadiums in his career

Shiver Me Timbers 09-27-2022 11:51 AM

It's really simple
If the Chiefs play to 80% of their capability they will win. If they play like they did in Indy they will lose.
The Bucs D front 4 should be the primary concern........Then the Chiefs Field goal kicker.
When is Butker scheduled to be back? I can't find it anywhere.

Except for that guy who happens to be the fastest back in the rookie class.

So tired of the RB narratives on this board. The vast majority are only as good as their holes. And the blocking in Indy was pathetic. They were also defended very well.

How did Jonathan "CP cries about me daily" Taylor look? Would anyone have guessed that he's a star if they didn't know him? Ran straight into a wall 3 times out of 4 like he was facing the Steel Curtain.

It is common knowledge that CEH and Pacheco have regularly failed to acknowledge huge holes our OL have opened for them. I don't even think that was disputable.

With Pacheco some of that is forgivable due to lack of time/experience. CEH has zero excuses. It's definitely not entirely on the O line but there's enough blame from Indy to go around.

Pachecho has missed like 2, and he's looked good otherwise. He's also just a rookie that probably has PTSD from playing behind a garbage OL with no QB. The narrative is overblown though.

He's easily our best bet.

You mean it's commonly assumed that it's regular. Is anyone breaking down every play to see how often it actually happens, and then comparing to every other RB in the league?

A lot of people predetermined that this would be a problem for Pacheco, so they're looking for it and blowing every instance out of proportion. And we already know that CEH gets no leeway.

Just gets old seeing people praise backs for running straight ahead through gaping holes, and then crushing our backs for getting swarmed behind the line of scrimmage.

Over the first two games, the backs averaged 5 yards/carry. The lanes clearly weren't there in Indy. Blocking was shit. Just because, in theory, this OL should be opening gaping holes doesn't mean it's happening.

There were actually some huge holes that the line opened and our RB's just missed them. I posted a screenshot yesterday of one run where the hole was almost 8 yards wide and CEH overshot it by 4 yards.

For every hole that CEH missed, there were 2 plays where there was no hole at all.

Something tells me they're not going to be as pumped as Mahomes, Kelce and now the OL.

And their offensive personnel sucks right now outside of Evans.

Our defense is the only unit on this team that has consistently showed up this season so far. They are currently 13th against the pass, 9th against the run, and 17th/pts against, with only three points separating them from a top-10 ranking in that regard. Statistically, this is the best start the Chiefs' defense has had in the Mahomes era by a significant margin.

Even last week, in spite of all the blunders the rest of the team saddled the defense with The D allowed just one TD and one FG in the second half, while the offense managed just one FG.

I still haven't had the chance to review even a highlight reel of the IND game, so I can't really comment on just how the offense fared, but on paper the defense is the last of our worries. As long as they play at least as well as they have been the last three weeks, they'll be fine.

And I'm just not worried about the ST. Toub will never let that fiasco from last week happen again, and I'm good with that. Butker will be back soon enough and really there's nothing wrong with them other than cleaning up some decision-making issues that will be solved in practice this week.

Let's see the offense finally get their shit together.

ThyKingdomCome15 09-28-2022 12:14 PM

Lol, Andrew Wylie is still our RT. So it doesn't change at all for Barrett. That's pretty funny he said that.

With that said, TB never forgot how everyone felt that game was a bit of a fluke. Kind of like when NE beat the Rams in 01. It really was a fluke though, both games were.

Megatron96 09-28-2022 12:32 PM

Apparently, we signed PK Matthew WRight to replace Ammendola. But the rumor is that Butker might still be available for Sunday.

I wasn’t criticizing our defense. Like at all

The Bugs defense matches up well with our offense which means our defense is going to have to be on their game to keep Tampa to a lower score

I actually think we can have a top 12 defense this year, but I didn’t want to hype them up so much since it’s only Week 3.

I think our defense may have the attitude and talent to steal the show in Tampa…

We’ll see

No worries, I wasn't arguing against your post in particular, really. It was just convenient to use your post, as there are plenty of CPers that have been shitting on the defense this season (again), so I just went path of least resistance by using your post (least amount of scrolling). No offense or whatever intended.

duncan_idaho 09-28-2022 01:37 PM

Tampa's D is fast and flows well to the sidelines. This would be a great game to adopt a more power-based run scheme. If you can deal with Vea in the middle.

Buccaneers may look tough but they are no match for my favorite team The Kansas City Chiefs!

BigRedChief 09-28-2022 01:44 PM

The disrespect. Someone needs to put this on Creeds locker.

Unfortunately, Creed won't be blocking him.

Sounds like you’re suggesting to move Creed to LT.

I’m in. Let’s go.

Yup I mentioned this a couple days ago too. Mahomes's timing always seems a step off in domes. It's really bizarre...

Let Justin Reid kickoff so he doesn't have to use the plant leg on kickoffs and just kick FG's and I bet he is good to go.

I'm just shocked that Evans' suspension ends the week of the KC game. And that Julio Jones will be back this week.

this is a take that can't be bad unless the chiefs blow the west

which they won't, because they've already wrapped it up

Running over to the hard Rock now. BRB

I'm going to be pissed if this is a "go through the motions" game.

This should be a game that everybody circled the day the schedule came out. These pricks taunted and ridiculed the Chiefs throughout the SB and talked shit for weeks after. Now they're talking shit again.

KC has the talent to make a statement and bury these ****s, and they need to make it happen.

Do they?

I think the offensive line is going to get mauled.

We're going to destroy this team.

Andy and Patrick have been gameplanning this week for months.

Red Dawg 09-28-2022 02:28 PM

So funny how the flags have kind of stopped to help Brady this year. They certainly stopped in NE when he left. Like magic Bill gets no help without him and this year apparently Brady is not getting much either. Seems like the league is transitioning off him finally with his boringness and age. The three big sites don't have anything in the news concerning him. Not his shit play, lack of wr's or anything. That's very telling seeing how in the past that would never have happened. League is pimping up it's young QB's now.

The health of the OL's a concern, but Mahomes has destroyed teams with less. The tackles might have issues, but I don't think he's going to be facing pressure from all directions like in the SB.

Buried doesn't have to mean 40-13. It could be 23-9.

Red Dawg 09-28-2022 02:32 PM

Looking at the big picture. Would be worse to lose to the Faiders and Bills. Those are AFC games and matter more in the end.

The refs just won Brady a game a few weeks ago.

He might be on the field, but I'm not worried about that guy at all.

According to ESPN, TB is 23rd in pass rush win rate. #25 in run stop win rate.

What was Indy, especially prior to playing the Chiefs?
