I can't even imagine the package it would take to have him leave his lucrative deal to play in the Midwest. I know there were rumors that KC was in the running before he took a fortune to play in Saudi.

Seeing lots of chatter about it having to do with the Copa America and World Cup being in the US. Plus apparently he has a home in Miami. I don't understand why, but people are saying he is about to be the most famous person in the entire world. I don't know a lot about soccer, but I thought he already was.

Stewie 06-07-2023 12:44 PM

Tony Meola was just on the Pat McAfee show. He said the cheapest ticket to an Inter Miami match went from $29 to $329. They have since halted sales for some unknown reason.

It's too bad they don't stop in KC this year. I'm sure those tickets would be sold at a premium.

He's been the most popular player in the most popular sport for over a decade. So yes, outside of the Pope and Vladimir Putin, there's not many people more recognizable on the planet than Messi.

This reminds of last years end of season run that made us look better than we really were, which has been bottom of the table. I still want to see a change in Vermes duties. (less)

Happy Messi is coming to MLS, I hate Inter Milan less than PSG. I will buy that Jersey. I will make Miami trips to go see him play.

You should be excited. And also relax

We went 0-7-3. Allowing 15 goals scoring only 3

Since then we gone 4-1-2. Scoring 13. Allowing 9. 2 of those Dallas and the lady game). Shouldn’t had counted. Offsides and no penalty kick

We have 17 ganes left. Only 2 points below the line

Seattle. 2-1 there. 3rd
Mom. 3-0. Home 7th
Lag. 1-1. There 3rd
St. Louis 0-4. There 1st
Port 4-1. Home. 11th
Dallas 2-1. Home. 4th
Van 1-1 there 6th

Look at the teans I. The last 7 ganes. Good teams. Should’ve won the van gane we would be at 19. Tied for thevplayoffs

Plenty of time and now we have all the players in the lineup.

Relax. Be excited

This team will not be a contender as long as Vermes is still running the show.

Im always excited, I will always root for them. I was at the Chicago game. (lost 0-1)

They are a mediocre team, as is most of the MLS. "Making the playoffs" really does not do it for me. They have proved that they can score and not be the worst team in the MLS. If Pulido / Russel / Kinda remain healthy, they definitely have a shot at the playoffs...

Being a top 3 team in the conference is the sweet spot that we should be aiming for. I don't think this team is that.

I mostly agree...though they have the ability to get hot and play at a high level and it would not be a big surprise, especially with Pulido able to score goals. They can get hot and do something with the way playoffs are structured.

But yea they are not "those guys" this year.

3-1 up over STL in the first half.

Superbowltrashcan 10-29-2023 10:14 PM

4-1! It would be sweet to beat STL…

petegz28 10-29-2023 10:19 PM

Excellent game! At the start of the day I figured the Chiefs would wax the Broncos and that STL would be SKC........

Glad to see us punch these ****ers in the mouth and it makes the Chiefs loss a lot more bearable for the moment...

What a ****ing performance taking it to them in their house like that.

We can end them at home.

More than happy to eat crow and say I’m fully back in Vermes army. I bend the knee and ask forgiveness. *knocks on wood* this is possibly the best form and the most healthy (if last nights roster was for rest and not a JFR lingering injury) we have been at this stage in a really long time. Last night was the most fun I’ve had watching a Sporting match and that includes being at the cold MLS final against SLC. Something about just shutting that crowd the **** up was so pleasing to me. Especially after listening to them act like they were suddenly the king of soccer in their inaugural season. Let’s finish it on Sunday. How great that the Chiefs game worked out to be the morning game. Gonna be a great sports day in the city hopefully! :)

jettio 10-30-2023 10:19 AM

After Chiefs loss, I actually thought about SKC game in St. Louis being a mood booster if it went well and they competed hard. That was awesome performance. It was like every player was finding the right pass. I was surprised the possession time was so much in favor of STL because SKC passed so well when they had the ball.

It was interesting they really did let them have the ball but in completely non dangerous areas.

As soon as STL tried to make an advance or get to a place of danger they would stifle it or force them to retreat back.

The possession numbers were surprising but when I looked back it was just a matter of the quality of their possession being such dog shit.

Beautiful.

We need a Save Sporting movement like we had a Save our Chiefs movement and continuing to just bang the drum and sing the same old chants won’t let ownership know we’re tired of the failures. The fans need to start speaking up or we’re about to get stuck in years of mediocrity.

Between this and Mizzou maybe you should just relax and enjoy the sports and stop having opinions.

So looks like Houston Dynamo in conference semifinals. Winner meets winner of Seattle and LAFC.

If SKC wins two more they will have definitely earned trip to final.

Houston have been really impressive and dynamic on offense this season having said that they did not look that great in the series against RSL.

Everything I said about Vermes is still 100% accurate, but how the season played out definitely saved his ass. Sounds like the board was going to Seattle to fire him earlier in the season and that performance saved him. We’ll see if he tries to play Kyrie Shelton at LB now that Logan is injured. When we’re fully healthy and can play his system he’s a great coach. When he has to adjust from his only system he knows he’s probably the worst coach in the league. He constantly tries to fit square pegs in tiny holes. I’m happy we beat our rival, but let’s not act like Vermes is the best coach around again either. He has some huge weaknesses.

POND_OF_RED 11-13-2023 08:44 AM

The MLS really ****ed up this playoff scheduling too. Hopefully we can get some new leadership at the top to try and get this league back on track so we don’t waste these Messi years. Having 3 weeks between playoff matches is ridiculous. It also makes no sense to have your early round be some new best of 3 and everything else being a single match elimination. We got lucky that we matched up with our rival so it was great, but from the whole playoff perspective it just doesn’t make sense at all. Having playoff matches only available on a pay-for-streaming app is also going to severely cripple the growth of this league. It’s very unfortunate timing because the league is starting to become so fun to watch, but it’s not going to get new fans watching when they charge more than Peacock or Paramount subscriptions. Those come with streaming shows on top of the Champions League and Premier League games. Make it make sense Garber, you ****ing moron.

Man, I know you are fresh off booing Brady Cook and your sports mind is second to none but you can't lose 3 DP players in a salary cap league like MLS and expect to be "ok" that is not coaching adjustments that is that talent of your team not being able to play soccer.

There’s a difference between being ok and completely inept. Peter re-signed Shelton and continued to try and fit him into the starting 11. Peter left this team without any depth at forward even though we’re overstocked with midfielders. That’s why we were the worst offensive team in MLS history to start the season. Most other coaches/GM’s wouldn’t have left the cupboard so bare with a striker coming off an injury like Peter did.

The depth at forward got injured as well. Agada spent a ton of time hurt.

How deep do you really think MLS teams are? Do you watch this league? Do you think third string depth at forward is a normal thing?

I am sorry man you are just flailing here. I know you think he should have coached his way out of losing all our best players and hey that's an opinion. I am fine not taking yours very seriously. Come what may!

|Zach| 11-17-2023 03:51 AM

The best thing about seeing the team how it is when not completely wiped out by injuries is that its a window that is not really closing. Lots of locked up talent that has a lot of soccer in front of them. Next year will be fun regardless of the outcome of this post season.

Theres a huge difference between 3rd string MLS depth and ****ing Khiry Shelton. I’m completely fine with the board dunce not taking my opinions seriously, though. :thumb:
