The thing is, like pretty much every game since Mahomes became the starter, it's entirely up to The Chiefs who wins this game.
If they come out sluggish, with their heads up their asses, put the ball on the ground, and **** around, they could lose this game. If they come out focused, and play their 'A' game, they'll win. The only way in which the opponent matters is in how much margin for error there is. It's all about how well KC executes. |

This is the dark horse of the playoffs...wouldn't take them too lightly, especially when the HC knows our some of our tendencies.

We're good here, this is what our DC wants to do. |
the jags had almost every advantage in the first matchup and still lost by ten
juju missed most of the game, toney was barely getting in, hardman was hurt could have easily scored on them when we were burning clock this one is already over they're not an elite team |
Teams that beat the Chiefs typically dominate the LOS against us. They exploit our OTs and we get no pressure on their QB.
Not sure Jax can do that. Last two games Jax has played (nationally televised games so I have watched) their O line has not really looked impressive. Unless Brown and Wylie just get absolutely dominated, we should score enough that Jax has a really hard time keeping up. |
KC turned it over three times yet still put up almost 500 yds of offense and won by double digits.
I don’t think Jacksonville’s defense has any answers for this offense. Especially with everybody back. |
So many times we watched a team win in the WC round, then go into NE off the bye and get their ass kicked.
Similar should happen here |

The Jags are good. Pederson is a good coach who will do some aggressive things.
But it won’t be enough. Give Lawrence better weapons and a stronger OL next year it might be a real fight, but as of now the Chiefs will need to contribute heavily to their own demise to lose this one. |
I have a lot of respect for Pederson.
He made Wentz look like a MVP candidate, and his backup a Super Bowl champion. The guy is a hell of a coach. |
This will be the easiest playoff game of the Mahomes era.
Not sure if that's good or bad, though. They are going to need to be ready to really turn it on against Cincy or Buffalo so they can't just sleepwalk through the whole thing. Need to put the pedal to the metal and never let up. |

The Jags are a good team (obviously since they've won a playoff team) but they needed a historic meltdown from their opponent to win. They have a good coach and a good QB and should be one of the scarier teams next year.
I don't think they have the horses to win against us right now but it should be an entertaining game. We're going to hand Lawrence his first Saturday loss. |
Quote:
|
Put Lawrence's first loss (and many more) on Saturday in the books, if we control the turnovers, make sure they kickoff on their first kickofff, and Patrick is Patrick. LFG!!
|
Chiefs have been so good for so long I sometimes think they get a little bored in the regular season and are looking ahead to the post-season. The Jags have played us this year, but they didn't get playoff intensity from us.
|
The Chiefs averaged 7.8 yds/play against the Jaguars in November and led 27-10 with 5:30 left.
JuJu Smith-Schuster - 24 snaps Kadarius Toney - 2nd week with team Andrew Wylie - 25 snaps Mecole Hardman - 0 snaps. Frank Clark - 0 snaps. Brandon Williams - 0 snaps. Not. Worried. |
Quote:
On the second point, Jacksonville's defensive front is pretty good. It may be a draw because their o-line isn't special, but their front 7 is a cause for concern to a team that struggles with tackle play like we do. |
Quote:
This one should be like the Colts vs Patriots in 2014. Colts got hot and beat the Peyton-led Broncos in Denver, only to get smashed in Foxboro the next week by like 30 points. |
They're going to be emotionally and physically flat, like a pancake
We still need to show up focused, but yeah we got this |
I will say that the game earlier in the season should have little bearing. Weird stuff went down that game which isn't likely to be repeated:
-Jags missed a couple kicks -Jags won the turnover battle 3-0 (4-0 if you consider the onside kick) -Chiefs weren't called for a single penalty |
Quote:
their front isn't scary who are you worried about? josh allen? arden key? chiefs handled those guys like they were nothing. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FmXiDWiX...jpg&name=large https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FmXlZIKX...jpg&name=large |

I thought the difference was night and day against the Raiders.... they knew what was on the line and opened up the playbook a but and cleaned up the mistakes; flipped the switch. And yeah, the Raiders suck, but so did the Texans and Broncos. |

Shit, let's not forget they would've lost - at HOME - to the Titans with their 3rd string QB, if not for a fluke defensive TD at the end (thanks to said trashcan at QB).
I actually like the Jags. I picked them to make the playoffs before the year. But they are NOT on the Chiefs' level. Just two completely different stratospheres. Someone put it really well a handful of posts ago - if the Chiefs show up, the only difference in opponent is margin for error. The Jags will give us a decent margin for error in case we are a bit rusty, or even if we have a couple dumb turnovers. Clean game and it's not close at all. |
I'm not saying we should be scared, but the Jags team we played earlier in the year is not the same team that finished the season.
That game has little bearing on this one. Of course, KC is different as well, and has so much play-off experience that I can't see the Jags winning or anything like that, but Jax was a different squad the second half of the year. |

Be careful what you say about Josh Allen, he's gonna be a Chief next year.

Rewatch that game. Despite the five turnovers the LAC never seemed to be dominating the Jags. Once the turnovers stopped the better team asserted themselves. Jacksonville is not a team to take lightly. While fans here can do that, I guarantee Andy/Patrick are not they have talent, playing with house money, have a young and improving franchise QB, and a great HC that has a recent SB win. |

i am looking forward to this game.
on paper we matchup well. QB of course you have Mahomes who is just incredible, Trevor is looking up with Dougie P instead of Urban. my brother is a Cheifs fan so household battle this week. Jags Dline has been one of the best over the last 9 weeks. and our Oline has solidified as well during that time. Chiefs DLine always give me nightmares as Chris Jones is really good. i expect another high scoring affair. i always predict my Jags to win as i do every week. but i don't really expect to win this one as Mahomes will do Mahomes things. |

That's really not even true anyway.
We averaged 115 YPG and 1 TD per game on the ground. 4.7 YPA, good for top 10. We just appear to not be able to run well because we don't call runs as frequently as other teams. We do suck running the ball on 3rd and 1, though. |

oh wow 20 carries for 117 yards and additional 39 form Mahomes. wow so torched. guess you will find out when you play this new Jags team that has improved and has won 6 in row instead of coming off a 5 game game losing streak.

The short bus has arrived. |
one thing to remember,
we shouldn't be here. we were not supposed to be a winning team this year after the Urban Meyer disaster. so we are playing with House Money now. the Pressure is on the Chiefs to win this game not the Jaguars. we can come in with no pressure and show up and win and they will still talk about how the Chiefs should of won. |
