All in all it was a Saturday game, and the extra day is going to help.

Playing basketball and baseball along with football all through his life I'm going to say that Mahomes has sprained his ankle many a time and he knows how to deal with it and play on it. He good!
|
I was hoping it wasn't high ankle, but it is what it is.
I haven't been on much, so I don't know if it's been posted a million times, if it has, forgive me. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/t8FO38KTtic" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe> I love Mahomes. End. HOWEVER. It's important to save him from himself at times. Dude could be out there with a bullet wound. I think he'll play and he'll be fine. But I'd happily forfeit the rest of the year to not jeopardize the next 10. |

Unfortunately, this probably will take away what often has been the difference in close games: Mahomes’ ability to scramble for big chunks of yards, first downs and TDs in key situations.

What will be interesting is the Bills and the Bengals are 2 teams who really sell out for the pass and play soft defense with deep safeties against the Chiefs. It's how they had success. Not sure if they'll play more aggressive if Mahomes can't run or throw deep as well.

To me this is going to come down to Andy Reid scheming up a plan that lets Mahomes play Manning-ball — keep him in the pocket, lean on the run, and take our shots with play action. Yesterday Mahomes started the first drive in the second half without a bad limp but after the run he was noticeably hobbled. We may need to lose that part of his game if he isn’t able to go full strength (which is a likely scenario) and make sure that he’s making throws that don’t require that extra push off his right foot.
Play to what he can comfortably do. Give him a good game plan. Hope that everyone around him on offense and defense plays at another level to help him out. We can absolutely win no matter who we play next week. P.S. it also won’t surprise me if Mahomes is 100% next week — dude is inhuman. |

Such a gameplan would be vastly different from what we've showed throughout the regular season. |
Anyone else worried about people trying to stomp his ankle next week?
Because you KNOW they're going to... |

A proper tape job is all that is necessary. |
All I know is that I love Patrick Mahomes and we are all lucky as **** to have him playing for our favorite NFL Team, The Kansas City Chiefs!

This why I’m cheering for the lesser of the two defenses. Go Buffalo….? |

So, his mom posted a picture on IG of them smiling - at Patrick’s house - while the Fox game is on in the background.
This means that he was back at home within 3 hours of the game ending. Factoring in the presser and postgame stuff, and the drive home, it means he probably wasn’t stuck in the trainers room doing treatment for very long. So that’s a good thing, right? |

I'll be pissed if we play in a dome in Atalanta with artificial turf wouldn't be good on that ankle.
**** you Goodell. |

Is that photoshop ???? How the hell is that not a serious injury ??? |

Starting to think it's a strategic plan to change the strategy of next weeks opponent. They'll be thinking we're featuring the run game and Mahomes will be toasting the secondary |

That’s gotta be more than a 2 hour ordeal, right? |

This injury is 100% pain tolerance and pain management. Playing on it won't make it any worse as long as taped correctly. It just won't heal until rested properly.
Biggest concern will be getting it rolled up on or tackled by that leg. Will hurt like a mother ****er. |
Never knew we had so many doctors on ChiefsPlanet

Fox pregame just reported that Pat woke up today feeling much better than the training staff expected.
It’s ****ing ON. |
FOX’s main reporter guy just said Mahomes woke up feeling much better today than anyone expected. Let’s hope he can have major progress in the coming days.
|
May have had a grade 1? Well, that's nice to hear.

Seems like it would be harder to play through turf toe than the ankle issue, and that turf toe didn't slow down Mahomes a whole lot.

Keep moving it as much as you can and keep blood flow working through the injured area. Im sure its not always the case but I know rest doesn't fix some tendon injuries as fast as work does. I know this from personal experience. |

I genuinely think Mahomes is an alien. Or some kind of super human. By Thursday there will be reports of him chucking 75 yard bombs off his right leg.
