Did anyone even bother to see if there is an Oakley store at Cherry Creek? I know the answer, but I'm curious if anyone who didn't know checked.

:clap:

For a Bronco fan he's an OK guy. Never in the time he's been here can I remember any problems, pranks from him. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

DomCasual was the poster on the Mane that brought it up, Garcia has not said anything in the thread that would make you think he was part of the game. Dom made a great post in the thread over their regarding this thread.

I actually felt kind of bad about having made light of the situation. I like most of the folks at ChiefsPlanet, and I know we would have our own feeding frenzy here if the roles were reversed. I shared what I know over there, and I'm going to bow out of this whole "game."

What I feel worst about is having said anything that could tarnish Garcia's reputation there. I think they assume that he made that stuff up about running into Kyle. My understanding is that it happened just as he said. In fact, I think he actually withheld a few things, because Kyle asked him not to share them.

You guys do what you want - I'm not judging anyone. I just think I'm going to take the high road from here on out. Do unto others, and all of that.
Garcia is fine in my book, the more I look at it, my guess is he is not trying to pull a prank.

What's your point? Game over?

Well, in fairness, that thread was started a couple weeks ago.

And a few other things...

1) Garcia and Taco John are mortal enemies. They had a falling out about a year ago; and rumor has it, they can't be in the same room together now. I seriously doubt Garcia would participate in a game suggested by Taco John;

2) Garcia is something of a trust fund kid. He lives in a house he inherited from his grandfather (guy invented a dental implant, or some damn thing), and he lives just up the street from Shanahan's house (the old one - not the ginormous one he's building);

3) Garcia and Kyle Shanahan both went to Cherry Creek High School. I think Garcia graduated two years before Shanahan, but they know each other. Garcia loves to tell this story about how he almost accidentally took Kyle Shanahan's finger off in shop class. It's certainly not unthinkable that they could run into each other in a mall, and have a cordial conversation; and

4) I've heard before that Kyle Shanahan is a bit of a blowhard. Apparently, Kubiak almost didn't hire him, because he worried about Kyle's problems with indiscretion. For example, one of the first things Kyle did after getting hired in Houston was to tell the Houston media that he and Chris Simms got each other's names tattoo'd on their ankles. He doesn't seem to have a lot of common sense in his interaction with the public.

So, Garcia's story is far from implausible. I did get a little bit of a chuckle about how it spread like wildfire in this thread. Nevertheless, I think there's at least a decent chance it's true.

Nice try. Yours and all Mangers' credibility is shot due to "traveshamockery". I understand it's a game, but how am I to know where it stops?

I would have suggested you limit this game to MB's you never plan to post on again. I realize you or TJ or GB will probably have something smart to say in response to this post, so I'll likely have to place you on ignore.

Except for kaylore. He seems pretty funny.

So here's a game to keep us all entertained.

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to infiltrate an enemy message board and pose as "the brother of an agent involved" (or some such) who has inside information about that teams affairs. You win points for each post in which your rumor is talked about seriously. Post such as "This is probably fake, but let me give you reasons for why I think this would be great" count because you've clearly hooked the poster.

YOU LOSE POINTS for every poster who calls your post out as fake - thus your rumors have to be on the edge of believability. Style points will be acknowledged for the more outrageous rumors that are believed.

I don't know who will keep track of the score... Who cares... Let's just have some fun. The winner's mastery will be apparent...

HOLMES: SO, MORIARTY! You say that Kyle Shanahan was seen at the Cherry Creek Oakley store this Wednesday. DESPITE the LUDICROUS nature of this claim, you cling to it! There is NO evidence supporting your thesis that you did indeed talk to one KYLE SHANAHAN and he told you of his father's job status. We have heard NO real news concerning Mike Shanahan's desire to coach the Chiefs. And yet you still maintain your ABSURD propaganda!

MORIARTY: You've got nothing on me, Holmes. Nothing. You amuse me.

HOLMES: Aha! But THAT is where you WRONG, my OLD FRIEND! Explain how you could have conferred with Kyle Shanahan - OR ANY HUMAN BEING FOR THAT MATTER - at the Oakley store located at Cherry Creek Mall...if there IS NO OAKLEY STORE AT CHERRY CREEK MALL! YOU...MORIARTY....ARE A FRAUD!!!

WATSON: Holmes, you old bean! By jove! You've done it again!

HOLMES: Elementary, my dear Watson.

Ok I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt for now since you are a respected poster and I like you.

This is the same guy who assured me that Virginia Tech would destroy Kansas in the Orange Bowl, too. :mad:

That's pretty damning IMO. I'd have more respect for the guy if he just owned up to it.

This reminds me of the Cheers episode where the rival bar is continually punking Sam's balding ass.
