Does Pest think the raiders are going to hit on all three of the seventh round picks they made?? Dumbass

Release Lynch after they already lost lat Murray? Their GM is going to struggle, not flourish.

Do you check shit before you just spew it? Yes, they have to give Mack and Carr new deals, but they can also dump the following players with ZERO dead money.

Kelechi Osemele - $10.2M
Sean Smith - $8.5M
Rodney Hudson - $8.35M
Bruce Irvin - $8.25M
Michael Crabtree - $7.75M
Marshawn Lynch - $6M
David Amerson - $6M
Jared Cook - $5.3M
Cordarrelle Patterson - $3.25M

They will release Sean Smith, Irvin and Crabtree in the next 2 years.

This is something I don't think people think enough about. What happens to Carr, who clearly struggles under pressure, when that OL starts to fall apart?

Penn is old as ****. No RT. Osemele already has back issues and is always hurt. Jackson is going to be really ****ing expensive, as is Hudson.

Carr with a huge contract and a below average OL is going to be hard to overcome.

And complimenting the raiders? You do realize how tight their cap gets after this year, right?

What are you even arguing here. It's really simple; the Chiefs free up 17 million in cap space do whatever they want with and eat 3 million in dead cap for 2018 by releasing Alex

There is no reason to move that dead cap into the following year, just eat it, and use the 17 million to do whatever they want.

Or pay Alex Smith 20 million in 2018.

It's pretty simple flexibility really. It doesn't matter if Mahomes is ready, you just do it.

Carr is fine under pressure for a young QB. A tick above league average last year. Better than Alex. He'll get better.

I've watched him against the Chiefs and the Broncos.

When he's facing a great pass rush, he struggles a lot.

Those stats are also behind that very good OL.

Derek Carr is Bob Sutton's bitch. We own him.

Carr's career trajectory says it probably won't be an issue going forward. He's improved significantly year after year.

I doubt McKenzie lets that OL fall apart anyway.

So? The chart clearly shows rating against pressure.

You've overstated his issue. For a young QB he's fine.

McKenzie only has that OL because of all the cap room he had to go spend it on free agents. Jackson is the only one that he drafted.

If Carr puts up the shoddy stats against good competition, imagine what happens when that OL takes a step back. The kid has peaked. Crabtree will be a cap casualty at some point too

You don't think being under pressure more often will effect his stats against pressure?

My point is he can be confident behind that OL he has now, yet he struggles against a consistent pass rush. His experience is going to have to overcome his OL getting worse and being under pressure more often.

Hammock Parties 05-24-2017 03:13 PM

I certainly hope you aren't as hard on Patrick Mahomes as you are on Carr. You make it sound like he's a borderline bust.

Agreed. The Raiders gambled on trying to win now with this year being their last best chance for awhile. They have a couple young stars but the vets that precede them are too mediocre or too expensive

I think Carr is a damn good QB, but he is overrated just like every other young QB that has early success. He struggles under pressure and in particular against my ****ing team which is the only one I care about. I'm just not as impressed as Raider fans like yourself
