LOL. Maybe they knew what the **** they were doing.

That's why they traded him?

I'd take Rivers in a heartbeat and yes, Cassel needs a running game to help carry him.

My hope meter is at 0 with our QB's.

I am realistic with Stanzi. There is a reason he is a 5th rounder.

He's the bright spot of a dull and horrific preseason, dude. And he looks pretty ****ing good, too.

I can understand why people feel optimistic about Stanzi's future, but saying he's already better than Cassel seems like a bit of stretch.

True man. That's all were wanting. No Chiefs fan wants Cassel to fail. We're just being realistic. It seems like a lot of people on this BB are huuugggeee homers and don't see clearly. I'm just as positive as the most positive person on this earth, but the guy just doesn't have it. People don't want to believe it because it sucks. It feels better when you accept it.

Or maybe they didn't want to pay him. 3 years as a starter with an 11-5 and 10-6 record is not anything I think someone is going or should complain about.

Well, after the draft there was really no point in following football because there wasnt any football. Didn't see much point in reading a forum about the latest MSN headlines.

20.4 QB rating. 20.4.

I don't have to judge that speaks for itself.

Cassel will never take us to the Super Bowl.

stonedstooge 09-01-2011 09:59 PM

If Green would have had this team, I think the Chiefs could have challenged for a Super Bowl because he could take the team on his back. I haven't seen Cassel able to do that yet. Not sure he has the tools to do it

Trent would work some magic back there, I remember so many times he was going to be decapitated only to duck and find an open man for 25 yards.

I love Green, but let's not forget how amazing the O-Line was when he played.

It would be a lot harder for him to succeed with this line.

Cassel isn't even comfortable with the ball in his hands in preseason games. What are people still clinging on to? I only hope that the young, future, stars on this team dont seriously injure themselves and ruin their career before we get a QB. We've got a fairly large window of opportunity here but the FO needs to get their head out of their ass, soon.

Look what happened to Green with Herm Edwards.

I dunno, guys. Cassell only threw two (2) incompletions all game. No INTs. I wish my QB could do that.....

Try to draft a QB in the 1st round would be a good start. I know it's not a magic elixir, but the statistics don't lie.

I guess I am missing something here.

Do you know how many QB's have been trade for 2nd round picks or higher that started as a back up?

I'm saying it ain't your QB thats at fault here. If he performed like Brady Quinn did today, I'd agree with you guyz. Here - compare this to Cassell:

B. Quinn started & played the 1st half: 4/12 for 26 yards, 2.2 yard average. No TDs, 1 INT. QB rating 7.6

I see what you did there! Well no matter what atleast no one gets shot!!

Exoter175 09-02-2011 12:28 AM

Cassel didn't have a bad game at all today. It actually made me happy so-to-speak. The passing offense was starting to click, and then a cement truck fell on Cassel and FOR WHATEVER REASON IN THIS WORLD we decided we were going to give Palko the reigns tonight. That just doesn't sit right with me. 4th game of the preseason, the LAST chance for any of the backups to get real tangible playing time, and you don't even let your rookie QB, who happens to look very promising, take a single ****ing snap.

WHY??

I know he looks good and he's going to eventually take over that backup position, and I realize Palko needs time and experience too, but give me a break here. Stanzi should have gotten at least 1 or 2 drives of his own in this game instead of just handing the photos over to Palko and pointing out his mistakes (extra credit given to those who actually saw that happen on live tv) lol.

boogblaster 09-02-2011 07:10 AM

turn-overs .. missed passes .. too much Palko ....

Okie_Apparition 09-03-2011 08:47 PM

I'm watching on replay, and I think Moeaki just blew out his knee again.

milkman 09-03-2011 10:02 PM

Watching this game now.

Cassel didn't look as bad as some have painted him, but neither did he look good.

He never sets his feet, and on his last play, the sack he took that sent him out of the game is one that he has to be able to avoid.

rocknrolla 09-03-2011 10:26 PM

Watching the the replay, don't know why? But I really hate Palko.

There are some athletic QBs that struggle with the complexity of the game.

Guys like Mike Vick and Vince Young, and even a Tyler Thigpen.

You feel like Vick is getting it, and Young and Thigpen have the potential to get it.

Tyler Palko is an athlete that is playing the QB position.

He doesn't look like a QB, or that he will ever get it.

rocknrolla 09-03-2011 10:35 PM

I totally agree. Stanzi seems to have "it". I would be much more comfortable with him in there getting reps and being our #2. For the first time in a long time I really see a QBOF In him for this team. I was very disappointed he didn't even get in this game.

I watched a few minutes....he made some decent throws when he had time, like the cross routes to Bowe. But i really hate his mechanics for the most part.
