Wow....the ****ing wheels have come off in here. We have people already hearing about suspensions and others fearing his release after the DNA/prints get taken. Holy shit the Planet provides entertainment if nothing else.

KCUnited 04-04-2024 07:47 AM

If Rice turns states evidence and is forced into the witness protection program he should go by the alias Mike Williams to blend back into the NFL and we can sign him as a free agent to avoid suspension

Profit

LMAO

FringeNC 04-04-2024 08:16 AM

What we don't want of course is for Rice to claim he wasn't driving if there is evidence he was. I very much doubt that will happen. I don't think legally he's in *too* much trouble, but Goodell may still give him a significant suspension for leaving the scene. Not a good look for the NFL.

Whodunnit, the CP version.

If the seat doesn't fit , you must acquit.

Rashees lawyer made him get in the driver's seat and it wasn't sized for Rashee.

He couldn't get in without adjusting the seat back two inches.

IF THE SEAT DOESNT FIT , YOU MUST ACQUIT

Wishful thinking. The NFL is all about parity and they're butt-tired of the Chiefs. Rice's "wake up call" is going to be a painful experience.

Not even close... I'll put a $100 its no more than 4 games in the end. The NFLPA isn't going to allow anything more for a likely misdemeanor w/ traffic charges with the worse injuroy being a few stitches in an eyelid.

So fortunately the Times Ours folks had Keysor on this week and predictably, with an adult in the room, sanity largely prevailed. Oh Nate tried to get on his high horse but by and large Keysor kept it in check.

He pointed out that as a prosecutor he's done literally hundreds if not thousands of cases like this with fact patters that are similar or worse. And by and large there's not much to them.

Now do some quick math folks, if the prosecutors office has seen a thousand of these in the 10 or so years Keysor has been a lawyer, then they're seeing 100/yr or more. That means they AIN'T throwing hundreds of man hours at these things. (I still can't believe someone actually said "Sing like a canary" in a non-ironic fashion. Just...wow)

I will say this again - this is NOTHING for the Dallas Prosecutor's office. Nothing at all. They do not care. Y'know what probably happened somewhere on a Dallas freeway today? Some idiots were streetracing. Maybe they wrecked, maybe they didn't. Maybe they'll just wreck tomorrow instead. FFS, nobody actually cares about this thing.

There were no major injuries. There is no kiddy diddling, homicides or drug trafficking. They just don't give a wet fart. Even if it is a FELONY.

Meh.

As long as he's back for the stretch run in December and the playoffs, good enough. He'll be fresh at least and that'll give him a month to work on the dropsies and timing with Mahomes. Just in time for playoffs.

Playoffs are ALL that matters now. Regular season is overrated in this era.

I’m still waiting for the OP’s super secret knowledge about the situation that would make us want the Chiefs to never let Rice play for them again. Perhaps him renting a car for over $1,000 is just so egregious and irresponsible we don’t want him around the team giving out bad financial advice?

So people think they are dusting for prints on the steering wheel, swabbing for DNA on airbags in a car crash with no deaths?

Cops should watch CSI reruns, they would learn to scan for semen too. That’s how they caught everyone on those shows, just jizz everywhere. Rice probably busted loads all over the steering wheel and airbag.

None of the officers handling the accident aftermath brought a boombox or bluetooth speaker to play the Roger Daltrey scream like CSI Miami.

If they let Roger scream, then you go all out on forensics.

JFC this lawyer is a dumbshit.

He basically said “come sue us” by publicly stating that Rashee intends to compensate the victims for their injuries and property damage.

Less said the better… but this hack clearly looks to be more of a politician/showman than a competent attorney.

Will be interesting to see how it shakes out. I hope the Chiefs are operating under the assumption the NFL office will be pretty harsh on the suspension. If this dude is gone for half the season, you need a backup plan. Maybe it’s Tyler Boyd. Obviously they need a productive draft pick. It would be nice if Skyy Moore could take a huge step forward this year.

It's probably more important to Rashee to to try and protect his image than his assets at this point. Also I am sure insurance and future earnings power has a role to play in this decision.

By admitting he was driving the Lambo the insurance will pay. If he says someone else was driving he's putting his personal assets more at risk.

If you need any evidence of the power of drama queens, just look at all the people that now expect a 6-8 game suspension.

This lawyer is so bad. I cannot ****ing believe some of the things he said.

Additionally, the fact that he's a senator also makes him conflicted in that he has a duty to his constituents as well as Rice.

This was such a bad press conference.

absolutely no way its 6-8 game suspension lmao, ultimately since nobody was hurt this is really nothing. I would guess at most 3 games and thats stretching it.

I won't say no way, because the Chiefs have a history of getting ****ed by the league office, but to expect it?

Nah, that's just silly. There's no reason why this should be a 6-8 game suspension.

Agreed. If the NFL comes at him with 6-8 games, it will be appealed and it will not go well for the NFL.

Drugs? My understanding is that the NFL can't test until four months prior to the season, so there I would guess that there is unlikely to be a drug element, even if found.

Guns? pure speculation by someone with clear biases in the video - but even so, does Texas not have some of the most lax gun laws? Again, I have a hard time seeing that turning into a thing the NFL can act on.

Willie Gay shouldn't have received 6 games, either.

He's getting hammered...esp. in a post Ruggs and Britt Reid world.

Goodell cares about image and how shit looks.

I hope I'm wrong but I'm afraid I won't be.

RunKC 04-04-2024 12:57 PM

It’s the Chiefs so 6-8 game suspension wouldn’t shock me but I think realistically it’s 4.

O.city 04-04-2024 12:58 PM

I see the law firm of CP and sons is on the case now.

Haaaaaaaaahahahaha!!!!!!

Christ almighty, I don't even know what to say to this.

Wow.

Dante84 04-04-2024 12:59 PM

The lawyer said: "you've reported there were no serious injuries, and we dont know that to be the case."

HOW DOES THAT HELP YOUR CLIENT??
