I don’t think that, with modern medicine, it is injury that is the big risk for staying. Its giving a larger sample size for scouts to find flaws. Plenty of people have come back from serious injury.

I still don't expect him to stay. Smart is the ONLY player I can think of recently that stayed when he was projected top 5.

The last guy to pass up being the #1 pick in the draft (which Embiid is more likely to be with every game he plays) to stay in school was Tim Duncan 17 years ago. Very hard to see him staying.

As much as I love watching Embiid on the floor, he'd be making a mistake to stay another year. It would be devastating if he had a Nerlens Noel type of injury if he stayed for his sophomore year.

Nerlens Noel is a stick. I kinda don't see that happening with Joel.

Uh you could easily easily make an argument for Marcus Smart going #1 last year.

You could, but there was never any one consensus choice there. Smart would have been 1 of 7-8 guys with an opportunity.

In any case, Smart's decision (like Duncan's) was a rare exception.

Lots of speculation. I think I'll enjoy KU basketball one season at a time.

Turn up boys. This is no walk over today.

Ceej 01-05-2014 12:33 PM

Big game today.

KSU beating OSU definitely helped out.

Prime time on CBS. From the Phog. Days like yesterday continually remind me why I'm so glad to be born a Jayhawk. Even though I was born in Missouri.

We've played for the Big Enchilada 5x in the last 25 years. With almost no down years in that entire period. WOW.

Pablo 01-05-2014 01:26 PM

Yes. I've never been so happy for a non-conference game.

I get to watch a winner today. I get to watch a team that lives up to it's billing.

I need this.

Yesterday, I took a rash of sh*t from charger fans for our epic collapse in Indy.

If the hawks let me down today, I'm going off the grid!

ArrowheadHawk 01-05-2014 03:54 PM

Missing easy shots early.

Buck 01-05-2014 04:03 PM

It's pretty hard for me to get into this game right now.

Mr. Plow 01-05-2014 04:03 PM

Dick in the butt foul on KU.

Then don't. Go gloat somewhere else.

KC_Connection 01-05-2014 04:13 PM

SDSU is much tougher than KU. Wiggins is going to have to step up to win this game. Embiid too.
