That thread was hilarious.

I especially enjoy the sources: A++/B-

When they drew in the Pig aggie fans prior to the Cotton Bowl last year was even better.

We will see, but right before the OSU game through the OU game, we were putrid as a Mexican donkey show on defense.

Maybe they took some pride in themselves and want to change that. They did much better "upsetting" "shooting out of thier minds" "refs bailed KU out" against KSU.

So we will see. They should run Texas off the court on Saturday in preps for Wednesday against OSU.

Heh. I was wondering if you would catch that.

UT can be tough. Particularly if they are allowed to beat on Withey down low. Plus we rarely play well in Austin. But yeah, we should run them out.

Kabongo is back.

I don't foresee KU running UT out of the gym.

well, it was fascinating...there are more posters on that board with direct sources into the KU athletic department then there are actual employees in the KU athletic department...also, Self must have 15 neighbors...and every day since last November a moving van has been seen moving him out, then moving his wife out, then after realizing the house was empty one of them moves back in and it starts again...

I'm pretty sure a team could make 5/30 threes, all from NBA range while triple-teamed each time and 6 hands in their face, and Reerun & Laz would talk about terrible perimeter defense while others talked about how it was raining 3s all night.

OSU averages 6/game and they were 8/24 against KU (KU hit 9/20)... OU averages 4.5/game and hit 7/20 (KU hit 5/15). Pretty close to average for KU's 3pt% defense. Overall, the teams shot 7-10% better against KU than KU's average, which takes their overall defense from leading the country to kind of crappy, but not really because it was raining wide open 3s.

DJay23 02-14-2013 03:04 PM

I get sick of the whining about terrible perimeter defense when it has been stated again and again (by Self) that KU will give up a 3 here and there if is means the easy 2 pointers are unavailable. Usually guys are helping in the post leaving their man on the perimeter open. It's not like a man to man with no help D where if that were the case I would agree that the D around the arc has been bad.

Percentage wise it's the smarter play and I think KU's efficiency ratings since Self has been at KU prove it to be a successful strategy. Once in a while you will get burned though if the other team is making an inordinately high number of high percentage shots or you get a guy stepping out and shooting and making them who doesn't traditionally do that (Jordan Egleseder anyone?)

oh of course its all 3's... But sadly OU had a bajillion wide open shots inside and outside the arc all day...

complain about me all you want. But when you fail to get off the ball screens and allow wide open shots all day. You wont win many games...

Mr_Tomahawk 02-14-2013 03:15 PM

Ha...

...They are now scouting our next head coach for us.

It's pretty entertaining. :)

Yep. #1 FG% defense in the country, even after the past couple of weeks. When teams get really hot from outside, sometimes it doesn't even matter if they're guarded. I'd rather take the risk and watch a team actually rain 3s than watch them constantly burn the defense for layups and dunks.

Well...they could if they actually give a shit like they did against KSU on Monday. That's the kind of effort they should be giving every game. Also, it would help a lot if Tharpe didn't suddenly regress back to horribly awful and kept slashing/passing the ball like that.

Why do you hate Tharpe so much? dude has shown tremendous progress from last year.
