Its a really weird situation because rarely does the Big 12 tourney mean so little for a team. Usually there is something to play for in that you MIGHT be a 2 or a 3 or a 1 all based on the results of the tourney but KU has that all locked up.

I personally covet the overall #1 seed (just for bragging rights) but I know others dont share the idea of its great prestige like I do. In almost all instances I would say play the guys...except this one. We already won the reg season. We are locked into the #1 seed. I know Self wont do it so doesn't even matter but if any guy gets banged up at all, sit him.

Dick is 2nd Team All Conference, Newcomer Team, and Freshman Team.

McCullar is Third Team and All Defense.

Adams and Harris are Honorable Mention.

Once again Self gets screwed over for coach of the year for being too good at coaching to win it

Coach of the year is third place in the Big 12, has 8 losses, 4 to unranked teams. What a triumph.

He made Third Team overall and the All Defense Team. There’s only one Defense Team. Harris made that too obviously.

Sometimes you hear that Self gets so much talent that he can’t be COTY. I think it’s dumb, because recruiting is such a big part of being a college basketball coach.

Besides, we aren’t pulling in crazy classes anyway. Look at what Self has done with guys like Harris and Adams.

Yeah there's no defense for it that you can't poke holes in immediately other than "we give this to the coach we didn't expect to do well because if we didn't we'd have to give it to Self every season"
