As everybody knows, there was enough talent on this team last season to win at least 7 games but without a HC that understands both sides of the game combined with a turnover machine at QB all that talent went to waste. Good news is, the talent is still there for the new HC to use. I'm optimistic. |

First off, the Chiefs believe they've acquired the best possible QB available in 2013. It's hard to argue that fact when the guy has been successful the past two seasons, there was no one available in free agency that could even match his record and there's no one in the draft that is an immediately game changer. The fact that the Chiefs haven't drafted a first round QB since 1983 is of absolutely no concern to Andy Reid and John Dorsey. They were hired to perform their jobs to the best of their ability, not to carelessly draft a position player because it hadn't been done in 30 years. |

I'm not getting excited for something I don't believe is going be anything to be excited about. I'm not setting myself up for disapointment. They all ready disapointed me with the trade and very disapoint we will draft a LTRT with our top pick. |

You cannot "prove" that Jeno Smythe will become an immediate franchise QB. Period. End of story. TattooBoy wants the Chiefs front office to "prove to the fans" that they're committed to winning, NOW, as if the past 42 years of a mostly losing franchise is somehow insignificant. Do you understand the diff? Capice? |

When looking for a QB you need to ask yourself if the player is capable of leading a team to the SB. If he isn't, there is no reason to spend anything on acquiring him unless he's a backup. Reid and Dorsey's job should be to win a Super Bowl. If they don't feel that there is a QB available in 2013 who can win a SB, that's an acceptable decision, but by committing to Alex Smith and constructing the rest of the team in the style they have, they've essentially said that there is no QB worth it in 2014 and possibly 2015. It's a classic example of not being able to see the forest for the trees. It will make the team better in 2013, but that's the equivalent of taking out a cash advance on a credit card to pay your mortgage every month. I happen to think that Geno Smith can win a Super Bowl, but I understand that such a belief is not a consensus, so passing on him, although a poor decision in my mind, is defensible. What isn't defensible is picking up a QB that I believe almost no one thinks can win a Super Bowl, because it makes acquiring a truly elite one more difficult. |
Aye, now THERE's some logic.

I could get slightly excited/interested/hopeful whatever you want to call it if we rolled the dice on a 2nd round QB this year (after moving back). We're not even going to do that. It's at least 3 years of Alex Smith from here on out, and I doubt they pick anyone high in an effort to replace him during that three years. Alex Smith = the death of Jamaal Charles and Dwayne Bowe. |
