Hope the Red Sox go 13-0 against the Blue Jays and Orioles.

Yeah, I think we talked about this before. The Red Sox don't have hardly any home games in September. Whoever came up with their schedule shafted them.

That walk is partly a product of Salvy not being even average at framing pitches.

Salvy saves his voodoo for the playoffs. Like in the 9th inning of Game 6 against the Jays.

Strahm looks to be this year's 2014 Finnegan, except he's actually good and not falsely perceived as such.

siberian khatru 08-28-2016 08:55 PM

It worked out fine but not sure I like stretching Strahm out that far

This. So very this. I don't mind the Red Sox. I can't stand the Orioles or Blue Jays

Good grief, it's going to take a lot for me to doubt this organization's decisions and their best players in the future.

They look every bit like a World Series team again.

Question for anyone who knows: how long does it take after a switch to the pen for an arm to not be "stretched out"? Strahm, for example, was throwing starter's innings until the end of June. So, is his arm still considered "stretched out", or no?

Donaldson is a terror though.

Back to back MVPs, it looks like. Thanks Billy Beane.

At this point I doubt they'd press the issue due to innings pitched. They haven't been pitching him back-to-back nights to save his arm. There was a KC Star article the other day saying they absolutely plan to give Strahm a shot at the rotation next year though.

Chiefspants 08-28-2016 09:00 PM

Reddit Royals fan is speculating that they may want Strahm as an option to spot start down the stretch.

Depends on what he is doing on the side.

Some guys in that situation may be given shorter side sessions to keep them stretched.

At this point, 40 pitches shouldn't be a big deal.

Really think he has nice separation on that changeup. It needs a little more fade to become a true swing and miss offering, but that's something you can develop over time.

Hopefully Strahm avoids celebrating his initial success like Finnegan did... And does something other than eat pizza and drink beer in the offseason.

And start openly criticizing the team that took him the World Series.

*** (In the event the 2016 Royals make it that far).
