Yep, and we had 2 ol between him and the qb. He had a better shot there than on 3rd

They are the perfect trade partner for Alex.

What do you think the Jags might be willing to give up in the trade? Jags must be pretty desperate for a solid QB. Need to take advantage of that defense before it falls apart at some point.

They should give us their 1st if that's what it takes. That's an all-time great defense that Smith could probably go deep in the playoffs with.

Ragged Robin 01-07-2018 02:33 PM

why is no one talking about the route combination? Literally only one viable route option to throw against cover 2 and it's a low percentage post 30 yards down field...

From Andy’s presser today. There’s about to be some big changes and Alex is one of them.

It won't be the same team? Yeah, what a tough day Andy.

Its almost impossible for them to compete with the Browns I think...

The Browns have THREE second round picks, including their own...

Even if the Browns just traded their own pick away, that beats Jacksonville's second rounder by a mile and still leaves them with two second roudners

Yep. Cleveland is the spot for Smith. The defense’s arrow is pointing up and if Smith does one thing good....it’s getting a bad team to average pretty quick.

The Browns can send us the #33 and a 4th rounder for him and I’d be happy.

Jacksonville could very well send us #27 and a late rounder to combat. That defense won't be elite forever, they'd be wise to grab a QB who can come in and play efficiently day one.

Of course, maybe Veach doesn't want to help Jacksonville too much..

Do you think the Browns would give up two of those 2nd round picks for Alex? Seems like a good deal for the Chiefs if they can get it.

They dont even have to send us #33 and a 4th.

I'll take just the texans pick that the browns now have....(4-12 record)....

I think that depends

Part of the problem is , is there any team willing to offer more than the Texans 2nd round pick (that the browns now hold)...If that answer is no, then I think we are going to get 1 second rounder..or actually even LESS...unfortunately

edit: yes, 2 second rounders would be really great...but HIGHLY unlinkely ....... keep in mind we might get the Eagles second round pick and a 4th or soemthig like that (the browns have the eagles pick too)..The browns have a TON of options and picks

JakeF 01-07-2018 02:45 PM

Alex Smith helped us bring the team out of a cesspool of losing and turn it into a regular playoff level team. He also just played well in the 2nd half of the season to increase his trade value. Veach should be able to get our two 2nd round picks back in trade for Smith, maybe more.

Thanks, Alex

Good luck with your new team.
