They will NEVER have the combination of young talent and cap advantages they have in front of them right now again. Seriously - this will be the best situation they have in terms of cap/talent for 20 years. Mahomes alone is a $20 million/season asset over the next 2 seasons. Hill, Hunt, Jones, Fuller, Peters and Kelce would probably get another $50 million on the open market.

If you look at this roster and say "well they can't win a title in the next 3 years anyway..." then why the **** bother? Because if this team can't win one, such an animal does not exist.

That's a huge portion of the rationale for Mahomes down the drain.

Rookie contract. Cap savings!!

Well, like I said, we're rebuilding for 2022 or some shit.

No wonder Veach went with the Redskins trade that included Fuller, as opposed to just picks for Smith.

Again, it sounds like Veach did the best he could, considering the circumstances.

Don't disagree that this trade is disappointing, but is it not a little early to pass judgment?

We wuz 1 player away!!

Then they've done a poor job handling one of the more enigmatic but talented players in the NFL. A different reason for having to make a move that hurts your football team doesn't diminish the fact that you had to make a move that hurts your football team.

Especially when losing the damn playoff game was self-inflicted to begin with.

This myth that the Chiefs have a deep and talented roster is so pervasive on CP, but it just isn't true.

They have Hill, Jones, Fuller, Kelce, maybe Mahomes, maybe Ragland if they work out. Berry if he's healthy. Other than that, mostly a lot of aging vets and JAGs. A bottom-third defense. A head coach and a DC who are mostly clueless at running the game.

This is not a one-offseason reload project. This is not a two offseason project unless you hit on everything.

This team is in rebuilding move, whether we want to acknowledge it or not, and a player like Peters who asked to be traded and won't resign is the first one that you flip for picks in a rebuild.

I wouldn't even call it a rebuild... a rebuild implies that you are building towards something.

The only thing that Clark's trainwreck of a franchise is building is a dumpster fire of continued fail.

Mecca 02-23-2018 01:31 PM

So now are they gonna furiously pray that Josh Jackson makes it to their pick?

notorious 02-23-2018 01:31 PM

Bye.

He’s no longer a Chief, so **** him.

best slot defender in all of football - #5 outside CB in all of football. Not awful if we can get Fuller Sr. or another addition. Too bad Xavier Rhodes isn't available - that dude is better than #7 overall IMO.

Sassy Squatch 02-23-2018 01:31 PM

Well, we know what we're shopping for in FA this year. Butler or Melvin would be nice.
