There is no waiting around for offers to match. They’ve known the offers for over a week.

Yeah, this is it.

If we don’t have an announcement by tomorrow night, it’s over … unless some team won’t pay him.

And there are enough teams with money and desperation to give Aaron Donald money or better if he gets to the market.

That’s fine. Thanks for best years of your career and the help winning Super Bowls, Chris. Enjoy the money and see you at the end of your career. And maybe when you’re walking out of Arrowhead after KC sends your team’s ass home in the playoffs.

Jones knows he will get what he wants in FA. He the biggest name in FA and he knows it's his last chance to get big money. He has 3 rings and that's a secondary goal. We cant throw the bank at him. My guess is Houston or Indy. They have cheap QBs and a lot of cap space.

LMAO Legacy for who? He'll still be a top contributor on 4 Superbowl teams with 3 wins and be a hall of famer and be one of the best DTs of his generation. His legacy will be just fine.

This is just a guilt trip into getting guys to take millions of dollars less than they are worth.

And people still wear Jamaal Charles jerseys and he finished his career with the Broncos and Jaguars. They'll still wear a superbowl winning players jersey 25 years from now.

Agreed. Would love to keep Jones, but I get it if he leaves to the highest bidder.

Chris Jones better hope that those verbal offers he’s using as leverage actually follow through.

I’m sure when Jones & Sneed move to other teams, the media will say the Chiefs are dead and buried without those guys. Hopefully the team can prove those doubters wrong.

And i see Charles jerseys at Arrowhead. I've even worn mine to games. I've also seen Derrick Johnson jerseys. Tony Gonzalez jerseys. Vast majority of people don't just throw away their jerseys just because a player goes on another team. I'm guessing it will be just like that for the player who was a key part in three Superbowl wins.

He might get more commercials if he leaves and is outside the shadow of Mahomes and Kelce. Plus you are correct on the jerseys as I still have an old DJ jersey as well as a Berry one. Never gonna get rid of them as I paid good money for them. Plus the jerseys he doesn’t sell here will get sold for his new team.

Jones will get his bag, unfortunately he’s not coming back.
Sneed will be traded shortly thereafter.

Bowser 03-09-2024 02:52 PM

I don't want him to go, but neither am I begging for him to stay.

You have your rings and you have your legacy, so go find your bag elsewhere if our offer isn't good enough. We'll always appreciate the time and play you gave us.

It’s for the best long term.

Can’t let the heart/emotions force you to overpay for a player… even of Chris Jones’-caliber.

Redbled 03-09-2024 02:56 PM

Jones affected the shopping we were able to do last year. I doubt Veach allows that again.

I expect something will be reached and announced simultaneously with a Sneed trade. It would be consequential, but not the end of the dynasty, if he chose to move on, but the Chiefs organization will find a way to adapt. Veach will make sure he presents his best offer, and if that comes up short, so be it.

They will. Talking heads need to have something to talk about in the offseason. One and only one player is indispensable and deserves market rate and he is still on this team.

Assuming this is how it goes, props to Veach for not blinking.

Excited to see what moves we make next week and in the draft.
