So what happened last night?

I think the first game was a given for the fakers given they had 5 days rest and able to get ready for either team. Now adjustments have been made it's more than obvious the best way to beat the lakers is to not only pic and roll them but to out hussle them.

FYI -

The Fakers attitude at the end of the game was pathetic....what a bunch of :deevee: . It reminded me of a bunch of spoiled kids that didn't get there way.

GO T-Wolves...

I agree that the end of the game was pathetic. And I'm a Lakers fan.

What made my eyes roll was the coaching. Yes, the lakers had no intensity at all yesterday but Jackson's coaching moves were strange. I have barely seen Brian Cook this year and here he is in the conference finals playing substantial minutes. Also, with 8min left and the score difference around 11-13 pts, Kobe is the only scorer on the floor. No Shaq, Malone, Payton? WTF was that. If I wasn't an anti-conspiracist, I would say that the NBA is going to get a 6-7 game series. The coaching moves just didn't make any sense.

What happened was it was a must win game for the pups and they played like it. The Lakers do what they do when they get bored, they quit playing D and then it starts effecting their O. They also got away from what they need to do to beat the pups, feed Shaq. Don't expect to see that two games in a row from the Lakers though. The Lakers did what they needed to, win one on their court. As far as the end of the game went there was some taunting and a reaction. It wasn't that big of a deal to me. It was embarassing though.

Yeah, winning a 7 game series is no big deal to the Lakers. They have 2 mulligans to throw away. They should be spotting a game to the other team, IOW, Minn should only have to win 3 to move on where the Lakers need 4.

Wow.....i missed the game last night big daddy..thanks for the update on what went wrong. I also heard Malone may get suspended...is this true?? what it that bad?

I think it was an impressive win by the T-Wolves rather than a let down by the Lakers. Remember the Wolves won it without Cassell. Maybe credit should be given to the Wolves for coming up BIG in a must win game. :thumb:

I thought the same TEX. In fact, I am thinking the Lakers had better bring their A-game for both games at the Staples Center, or the T-wolves just might steal the home court back from them.

I HOPE you're right, but I'd like their chances much better with a healthy Sam Cassell. :hmmm:

Doesn't really matter to me. I am a Laker fan from back in the West/Baylor/Chamberlin days. As far as my new favorite teams go, the T-wolves are pretty high on my list. So, old time seniment goes with the Lakers, but I wouldn't mind seeing the T-wolves win either.

Coogs 05-24-2004 08:23 PM

Right now, I am watching the East series. The Pistons have a 4 point lead with about 5:00 to go in the game. If the Pacers give up home court, I have a feeling the Pistons will be the winner of the East.

I hear ya. As for me, I'm a Rockets fan that goes back to the days of Moses Malone/Calvin Murphey/Rudy T (Yes I was watching the Lakers/Rockets when Washington punched Rudy - OUCH!) Anyway, if my favorite team gets knocked out of the playoffs, I usually pick another team to follow for the rest of the playoffs. This year that was the Spurs, but they lost too. So, now it's the Wolves. There is just no way I could ever pull for the Lakers in any scenario. As a matter of fact, if the Lakers get past the Wolves, I'll actually pull for the Eastern Conference. But I really don't care as it's just something to do. To me, basketball has lost something. Way too many punks and thugs and way to much of a loss in fundimentals. Just my take on things.

Pistons by 4, shooting free throws with 2:08 to go....

Missed them both. Pacers still alive.....

air ball on a 3....

1:38 to go. Pistons ball.

Coogs 05-24-2004 08:38 PM

1:15 to go. Detroit by 4. Pistons ball.

Coogs 05-24-2004 08:40 PM

Pistons miss. Reggie fouled. shooting 2 with 45 to go. Made them. 2 point game.

Coogs 05-24-2004 08:47 PM

Prince with an incredible block on a breakaway by Miller pretty much seals the game for the Pistons. 3 free throws later, the Pistons are up by 5,,,,

Game over.... 72-67 Pistons.

You need to check out the block by Prince on SportsCenter. It is an all time great!!!!
