That's a corruption of the true definition of a "flagship" school, but it's probably why KSU fans seem to troll KU followers with that line so effectively.

Keep it up, dudes. If anything it's fun to see you troll some of the more, uh, passionate bunch around here.

Shout out to KSU. KU (7) & KSU (5) combined have more Top 25 RPI wins than entire Pac-12 (11), Big East (9), SEC (7) and AAC (5).

I'm trying to think of a state that has 3 NCAA teams 70+ wins.

ISU loses again.

Syracuse about to go down against Georgia Tech.. as long as Tech doesn't piss themselves here in the last 10 seconds.

EDIT: 18 seconds.

Buehler445 03-04-2014 08:03 PM

Is that 4 out of 5 cuse has dropped?

TLO 03-04-2014 08:04 PM

Man o man has Syracuse fallen. Wouldn't be surprised if they end up as a 3 or 4 seed.

TLO 03-04-2014 08:29 PM

Alabama vs Kentucky has been some awful basketball up to this point.

Chiefs Pantalones 03-04-2014 08:34 PM

I'm in a pickle. 1 seed regardless of region is easier path. Cuse is likely gonna lose another, maybe two, which may drop them out of the east so no orange shit around. 2 seed in the Midwest is cool. Close to home, WSU's bracket. Hmm...

Chiefs Pantalones 03-04-2014 08:36 PM

15 ISU goes down to Baylor, 12 Creighton and the McBuckets go down at Georgetown, 7 Cuse goes down at home...early onset March Madness?

It's pretty easy for me. #2 in the Midwest -- assuming WSU is the #1 seed. Keep in mind they're my second favorite team and I think they're legit.

I'll choose close to home over 1 seed every day of the week, see 1KU vs 2UCLA in Cali.

I had no idea PAC 12 was that bad. I did watch a little of an Arizona game a week or so ago and they did look sharp, quick, and disciplined. I hadn't seen them all season, but they looked good. Good enough I don't want to be the 2 in their bracket.

I see that by making a joke of it you are trying to deflect the heat your manlove of Smart is getting. No way you can defend that slap. Smart is a very good player. But it's the other crap in his game that makes him less of a player, IMO. Slapping and flopping are not basketball. It's cheap crap that talented players should never resort to doing. James Naismith would be rolling in his grave.

Pablo 03-06-2014 08:47 AM

I have to admit that I was a Smart defender earlier in the season; but I have grown weary of his tactics.

I'd prefer to see a quick NCAA tourney exit for that squad and watch him slink off to the league. He better get a shot though, or he isn't going to be shit at the next level.

But it is a joke. That's just about the tamest reflex "slap" I've ever seen. In fact, Embiid did pretty much exactly the same thing in a game earlier this year to a KSU player except harder.

The hate has grown strong enough that some in this thread are actually making their own homemade Smart jerseys and videos. It's beyond hilarious. He's in your heads!

He's not in my head, but like I posted before, all this crap is a pretty ****ing huge black mark on a dude that was pretty untouchable to start the season off.

He's taken a colossal step back IMO. Probably not in the NBA scouts eyes, which ultimately is who matters, but with fans, he's not nearly the player/man that we thought he was.

EDIT: Say what you want about BWillie's video, it was funny as hell.

Take a look at the link Bearcat posted. He was playing exactly the same way as last year (at least in terms of flopping and exaggerating contact). The only difference is that his team won more games last year, which apparently led people to turn a blind eye towards it.

He's everything I thought he was. The fact that he's been able to essentially save his team's disappointing season since coming back says more about him as a basketball player/competitor than anything he did last year for them.

I'd give that one a solid 4 clowns, with an extra clown for creativity and commitment. :o):o):o):o)

In the pure flopping category though, I'd give five clowns to the ISU double flop and the 2nd to last one in that link where one second he's bent over trying to find the ball, then suddenly flails backwards like Ellis had just poked him in both eyes with sharp sticks.

I did enjoy those two. The GIFs suggest a linear improvement. It often takes years to develop any one basketball skill, but Smart just about has this down to a science now.

He did show up at the right time against Kansas, which I think highlights the point even more... he was being a clown the first half and ended up 0 for 7 from the field and you surely couldn't say he was doing much at all to save his team. He showed up down the stretch and made some huge plays, including the rebound while going out of bounds and hitting a 3. People get upset watching him flop around, but what he did late in the game makes the flopping a damn shame. He should stick with playing basketball... he's pretty good at it.

He played terrible in the first half. Luckily for him, KU did too. Just as he did at AFH in '13, though, he got it done when it mattered. And that's why OSU is going to the NCAA tournament in a year where just about everything went wrong for them.

And, of course, some would argue that flopping is part of the game (as it's currently officiated). How many calls did he get in that game due to exaggerating contact? Perhaps not as many as he would have wanted, but several to my recollection.

There's plenty of available space in most of those heads.

I went back looking for the cry fest about Denis Clemente when he layed a nice little noogie on Brady Morningstar after a free throw. Couldnt find that one but found a couple of related threads. Holy shit, those were filled with teen like drama. But nothing like "Naismith is rolling over in his grave". LMAO
