What's so great about Svi? He played 13 min last night with 1 basket and 3 fouls. The last 7 games he's averaged 5.1 ppg. You're beating your meat to that?

Yes.

Kid is 18 years old. Can handle the ball, can drive, has a good looking shot, plays good defense, and is going to be here for at least 1 more (likely 2) seasons. What's not to like about that? Kid is going to be a good player. He's already a better player than Greene.

I would say since 2011. The 2010 and 2011 teams were arguably the best teams in the country in both those years.

The 2012 team, of course, made the final but UK was always the favorite.

If they would've gotten past VCU in 2011, there was nothing stopping them from winning it all. That team, IMO, was hands down better than anyone in the field. Uconn and Butler in the Championship? Almost sickening to think about. They definitely squandered that opportunity.

He's done a lot more that doesn't show up in the stats. If you can't see that then you're not watching.

I agree. I also think the 2010 team was even better (32-2 going into NCAA tournament, 15-1 in conference, 6 NBA players + Sherron).

there is so much more to basketball than stats, PB. You can't rely on Kenpom and PER to do your thinking for you.

So true. And that doesn't just apply to PB. ;)

I had forgotten until someone reminded me why last night's crushing of Shaka Smart's Longhorn squad was all the more tasty.

Moreover, they let him handle the point while Mason and Graham were on the bench, against a team that presses a lot and presses well and the universe didn't explode. I'd have put that at a 0% chance as of a couple weeks ago.

LOL

Hadn't heard that. I'm starting to rethink my official position of "**** Shaka Smart." I'm thinking it isn't ****ey enough. I think Double **** Shaka Smart is certainly in order. Stand by.

I'm being way more basic than that. Simply points per game. He had 1 great game vs Tech. But for the season his playing time and numbers across the board are identical to Brannen - except for one: 3pt shooting (54% to 38%). Brannen is an elite NBA caliber shooter.

It's odd to me Self plays them the same amount when one is clearly better. But we are #1 so all is good
