And if it is....then it is.

People need to understand that this method of 2 stars and a bunch of scrubs is not built for long term success. It's hard as **** to keep affording it every year.

Maybe adding a bunch of capable WRs allows us to limit Kelce's touches moving forward and then he doesn't break down as fast.

just frustrating what we just did.

Because we have Mahomes it's possible they will find their way to a guy who can play the #1WR spot.

Maybe OBJ will come and be available for a playoff run.

But as excited as I am to have a lot of draft picks that #1WR spot is a huge hole we created and haven't addressed yet.

LMAO

It could be, but there’s really no reason to believe that unless you’re just full doom and gloom.

We just traded the dude less than 48 hours ago. Did you think Veach was going to turn around and find a WR1 laying around somewhere?

It's been 3 days, man.

No. For me the draft would be the deadline.

Let's move away from timing. How comfortable would you be going into the regular season without a #1WR?

The Franchise 03-25-2022 09:45 AM

And even if this is Kelce's last year of dominance.....that doesn't mean that all of a sudden he falls off a cliff and gets you nothing.

Kelce at 600-800 yards is still valuable.

KC didn't create that hole, Hill did.

How comfortable would you be sticking Mahomes with no defense again?

You really think Hill leaves if we offered him what he asked for?

Sure, you can say he priced himself out of what we WANTED to pay. But KC made a choice too.

Goddamn, dude.

September is 5 months away.

We're still in FA, we have the draft, we have the firepower this year and next to trade, AND there will be another FA period when guys start getting cut this summer.

We aren't going into 2022 with only Hardman, MVS and Juju at WR.

Chill.

I don't get how people miss this every time.

KC was willing to pay Hill top 3 WR money. Hill wanted more.
The Raiders traded for Adams and made him the highest paid WR.
Hill and his agent told KC that they wanted Hill to be the highest paid WR and he would sit out if they didn't.
KC did him a solid for his past contributions and let him seek a trade.

If KC had paid Hill all of that money and then couldn't do shit else to field a team....people would be bitching about that.

I think we're going to go into the regular season with a rookie wideout that we hope progresses to be a #1. That's the level at which you should set your expectations.

I'm okay with that given that I think we'll have improved elsewhere as a result of the cap savings/picks we got from this deal.

No, but I hope he has a plan, or a good feel for who he wants to get. There will be a learning curve regardless which will be longer for a rookie.

I get that there's the option to make him play this last year, tag him etc.

But **** man, that would have been....just ugly. I don't get the impression that Tyreek is a guy that's gonna show up and soldier on.

They pivoted and moved on. I woudl have rather had Tyreek here for his career, but sometimes the cards are the cards and shit happens.
