Watched most of that on the TV in the lunchroom. Holy ****ing shit.
I may get killed in my sleep tonight. |
Ohhh baby 9-0 first inning. ROFL
|
So would you treat this as a bullpen day for Flaherty and take him out after like 30 pitches and have him ready for game 1?

Their tomahawk chop was conspicuously absent.

Definitely a little early for Shildt to go to the all defensive lineup.

You almost have to play for the next series at this point and take Flaherty out early to have him for game 1.

If someone has to get shellacked by LA I want it to be us!

There's no need to have Flaherty in game 1 on a goofed up routine. He's not a guy you start 3 times; not with the innings he's pitched this year and at his age. You keep him on his rotation and hope to get the absolute best version of him twice in the LCS. Don't have him throw 110+ or anything, but a nice, tidy, 90 pitch start that has him ready for Game 2 will be just fine. Don't mess around with a kids routine. |

But to each their own. Me, I would want my ace as many games as possible and the Braves just gave you the opportunity to set your optimal rotation for the NLCS. Are you concerned that your boy Carlos might blow this game? |
****The Official 2019 STL Cardinals Thread****
I see the Cardinals called William Tecumseh Sherman our of retirement to manage this one.
Congrats gang. |

I know for sure BRC and myself said that if they didn’t make the POs this season a year or 2 ago that it’d be it a disappoint.
I am here to serve massive amounts of crow to the non-believers. |
I haven’t seen a choke job this bad since Mia Khalifa and Peter North.

Granted, both teams swept each other at home, but still. |
Lol I know guys.
My point is you cant make the WS if you don't make the LCS. |
Score, please.
I’m on the train now and the MLB page is seriously lagging. |
This is the least climactic playoff game I have ever watched. Glad to be on the good side of it.

Thanks. Jesus, what a beatdown.

I thought being a full year without Matheny and adding Goldy that would be worth at least 5 wins and we’d get the WC with 92 wins. |

I have full confidence in Wainwright and Mikolas to pitch well. They aren’t the ****ing Red Sox. |
Quote:
We just saw another negative example of pushing your top shelf pitchers on short rest. If we are going to beat the Dodgers, Flaherty can’t do it by himself. |

I’d go with Mikolas/Hudson on the road. Save Waino and his one start for Bush. |
Quote:
Mikolas has been shaky at best for 2 months and Wainwright was chased out of his last regular season game against the Cubs backups. |

I really wish Gant was on the roster right now for mop up duty. |

Why is Mikolas up? Who are you planning on pitching in game 1 there Shildty?

Wainwright Hudson Flaherty Mikolas |
Okay that’s it, get him out of there. 4 innings left. Miller and Martinez can only give up 5-6 runs.

Wow so they are going to let Flaherty continue.
|
Quote:

They need to save Hudson for a home start. Probably should be Mikolas, Waino, then Flaherty.

Cardinals are the 3 seed and the Nationals are the 4 seed. If the Nationals win, Cardinals will have home field advantage. |

Oh, and I'm home. Was not greeted with the shotgun.
Promised the wife I'd take her out to a nice dinner tonight somewhere that doesn't have TVs. And while I'll certainly be a prick about this later :) I'll go easy on her tonight. |
Holy God. Is that score for real?

Going to Cooperstown this weekend. Initially I really didn't care, since I've been there before.
I'm looking forward to it a lot more all of a sudden. :thumb: |
Started watching at work this evening on delay when I got stuck at the office late. Was so satisfying that they were just beating the shit out of the Braves early.
|
I’m not much on baseball, but was listening to the radio with work buds who are as STL went up 10-0 straight outta the gate and that was some old timey magic
It’s such a classic baseball town, congrats to the birds on a bat... incredible showing |
Looks like the Dodgers are going to try to put up 10 in the first inning too.
