KSU ****ed it hard on this game. They're WAY better than ISU. I have no idea how the hell they didn't have a deep safety.

WilliamTheIrish 11-25-2023 10:22 PM

Wanted to go back to back 10 win seasons. Still a good season. Thought for sure Iowa State would allow us one more TD.

MAG 11-25-2023 10:25 PM

You cannot convince me that K-state game was not rigged. That defensive unit and coaching staff should be investigated. That was the 2nd worst offense in the Big 12, btw.

Texas A&M fans not happy with the Stoops rumors…

I hope it's not Stoops hopefully it's Dabo or Day I want a coaching carousel like a few years ago when Riley went to USC

I find it hard to believe A&M fans turned the tide on this that quickly. Not sure Stoops is the guy but they really would be better off with someone who has something to prove over another big name who's going to coast on their reputation.

A&M deserves it if it plays out that way.

Unless they're fired, Day and Dabo are at superior programs. Why the **** would they leave to go get their heads kicked in by Alabama every year?

I mean this is a down year, their QB is a bag of roasted rhino balls, and they're still in contention for the playoffs.

Who signs on for that as at minimum a lateral move?

EDIT: I mean other than that street whore Brian Kelly.

Although to be fair, Dabo and Aggie will never fit. Polar opposites outside of being all weird.

Day probably leverages Aggie for more money. His job gets easier starting next year.

Liepold is the real deal.

Buffalo was smart enough to hire him from Wisconsin-Whitewater. Coaches that win everywhere knows what they are doing regardless of level.

He ran off Penix.

Indiana is a tough job because they don’t have the investment in football, but Tom Allen sealed his own fate due to incompetence.

They'd be ****tarded not to. The guy is far over his head. The loss to Michigan this year is ****ing embarrassing at the highest level. We have a solid 8 1st and 2nd-round picks on our roster and a couple of other 3rd rounders as it stands right now. Michigan might have 3 1st and 2nd round picks. The talent levels of these two teams were night and ****ing day. Day's commitment to his soft-ass D-coordinator, who couldn't coach a high-level high school defense, and his abandonment of the top receiving corps for a good portion of that game should get him fired alone. That's not even counting the talent discrepancy. He has the advantage of being at one of the easiest schools to recruit to ever and he continually ****s it all up. Not winning last year with Stroud at QB is even more of a ****ing embarrassment. You don't continually lose to Michigan and keep your job. **** him with a firey cactus straight in the asshole. Day needs to go.

They list price evaluations which I doubt are accurate and NIL isn't really like NFL free agency it seems to take a long ****ing times. Also Nebraska had 2 of the best o-linemen flip after other schools offered more. It's hard to tell who has the most NIL other than A&M and it seems like OU does really well in the portal too

Don't think Penn State is in the cards as they are invested in Drew Allar who's a sophomore right now.

Notre Dame makes most sense due to Sam Hartman leaving and most big boy programs usually prefer experienced QB's and will pay top NIL $ for them.

A Big10 school would also fit his style as well. Maybe Rutgers? Maryland? Michigan State? Don't know what he has in mind as of yet.

Yuuuuuuuuuuck.

Man the veil has been lifted on college sports. We REALLY gonna pretend like this money wasn't getting to these guys before this?

I really don't have a problem with the NIL stuff - I think it's a good development. But the NIL combined with the free transfer stuff just makes college sports kinda gross.

FloridaMan88 11-28-2023 10:25 AM

The transfer portal timeline needs to be pushed back to start after the season… i.e. the National Championship Game.

Teams will be playing in non-CFP bowl games without half of their rosters since everyone has already entered into the transfer portal.

Just bring back the 'year off' rule. With the lax rules on the redshirt years now, most players with high ceilings can reserve that redshirt season. Blue chip guys leave after their third year anyway. Gives them A freshman season to see how things are going and if they're genuinely unhappy (rather than just chasing the bag) the transfer is easy enough - they burn a redshirt during their transfer out season then show up as a redshirt sophomore at their new school. Now they have a full season at the new school and if things go well, they can still go pro on the same timeline.

If they don't, hell they could transfer AGAIN and have a Senior season, but they they'd better be awfully sure they want to leave at that point. 2/3 of this year's Power 5 Quarterbacks were transfers. About 70% of the top 50 QB signings over the last 5 years have transferred at some point. Teams are cutting bait on young QBs rather than developing them because some bag-man will just grab a successful QB from a smaller school and force their developmental guy off the roster.

It's the hopping that makes things so transactional. And again, it's not just on the players - the schools are facilitating it and frankly they kinda HAVE to do it. Worse, every season/off-season becomes a re-recruitment period of their own guys.

I just really pretty much hate everything about it. Every player is essentially a free agent every off-season. Pro sports would NEVER do anything like that; it feels completely untenable. It's ****ing chaos.

Yeah, in theory I should like it as a KU fan for CBB, but it becomes like you're just rooting for the jersey.... similar to what I notice in the NBA (not that I pay that much attention to it).

And in college, it just makes a mess of recruiting like you said in your 2nd post, and for CFB teams that aren't Bama or Georgia or Ohio State just become the Royals of CFB, developing players for the big spenders.

That run to the Big 12 title game was the stuff of legends. Pushed aside for transfer QB from NU. Transfer QB plays extremely well. Get injured. Will Howard steps in and, not only does the team not miss a beat, they become better and Will Howard is the reason.

This season don’t turn out like he hoped. But it was still a damn good season.

Petrino just doesn't have that bite in him that he had ten years ago. Seems content doing the minimum to stay busy and spend the rest of the time with the grandkids.

This seems like mostly a ploy to generate NIL funds because inbreds in the area are still obsessed from when he was HC.

transferring for the money.. not to play.

not staying in the place you committed

the rich get richer---Not that I like anything U of Minnesota. But PJ is complaining that without more NIL money he will not be able to recruit any good players. Meanwhile, he is losing his starting QB.

I just dont believe college players should be getting paid in college.

Man the veil has been lifted on college sports. We REALLY gonna pretend like this money wasn't getting to these guys before this?

I really don't have a problem with the NIL stuff - I think it's a good development. But the NIL combined with the free transfer stuff just makes college sports kinda gross.

I don't like it from the rooting perspective, but it is probably less gross now than it used to be. Transparency at least puts everything on top of the table. The whole bag of cash schtick felt super grimey.

And at least now student d-league athletes can have recourse if they're taken advantage of.

Players were getting paid before it just wasn't public. Minnesota pissed off their QB they offered the kid from New Hampshire.

So you're okay with all of the programs getting rich off of the athletes but the athletes aren't able to earn anything. And before you hit me with scholarships....that shit is a drop in the bucket compared to what the schools get.

Many athletes get a free or near free education, unlimited meals, stipends, tutors, etc.
Some live in the best dorms, while other gen ed students live in dorms that cockroaches wont look at.

My kid was on the dance team. Since it was a club, not an NCAA endorsed sport, we had to pay for uniforms, workouts, trips, etc. They were not even allowed to put the trophy on campus even though they spent all game day smoozing fans (and getting groped a little) . Point? Even though they represented the university, they got nothing I mentioned above.

Then, think about how some of them will feel when the faucet shuts off. Most are NOT prepared for it. Mentally or financially.

Doesn't appear to be killing Missouri Football. I mean, we haven't got everyone we've wanted, but we've done plenty well.

My friend showed me the over/under for Iowa to score a point vs Michigan per half is 0.5. That is so disrespectful.

To be fair the IA defense could get a safety.

I'm a Hawkeyes fan and expect the Wolverines to eviscerate us, but I'd bet the over on both halves.

With their defense, the odds of a turnover and a field goal or two seem reasonable.

Fat Rhule and his $74 million contract seems to have a problem with collegiate QB’s getting compensated…

I wouldn't expect a Miami Hurricane COVID denier to understand context

I’d expect a mask wearing beta such as yourself to say that.

That's about what I expected from a low IQ poster such as yourself

You aware NIL is totally separate from things like a school athletic budget right? Nebraskas NIL doesn't have the donor base that a school like say USC would have. Still doesn't mean they can't get a good QB in the portal but the collective won't be able to compete for someone like Riley Leonard that's just not reality. Again context matters

Expect the Michigan sideline to be filled with security towards the end of the 4th quarter to arrest Harbaugh of murder at the end of the game

Let's be real, scholarships are damn near useless to the kids that are actually getting the lucrative NIL deals that lead to them hopping programs. And as Franchise already said, it was far more egregious when the shit was under the table and the NCAA and these universities were making billions off the back of athletes.

Fatt Rhule is never gonna have enough money to get corn to a bowl game before getting shitcanned. You love to see it

Nebraska doesn’t have any wealthy donors who can support NIL?

No wonder your shit school hasn’t even been bowl eligible in forever.

Loser fanbase, loser school… full of mask wearing betas like your fat ass.
