SF is not getting back to the SB anytime soon. The loser doesn't make it back following season. They have to pay him or move on. They probably pay and start to lose guys. The band will break up. They blew their two shots. It's done.

Also, I think there needs to be a new stat, one that attributes interceptions to the player responsible. Still count interceptions like normal, but a player like Toney would have had a one after the Lions game last year. Or Tyreek in the AFC Championship game.

Because, yeah, Mahomes hasn't been sharp, but several of his interceptions are not his fault.

If a QB can’t take direction in front of others then he isn’t worth a multi-year, $200+m commitment.

Every time he went through a period when he wasn't himself, he not only fixed his shit, but he didn't allow his slumps to affect winning the division and getting to the playoffs.

Typical knucklehead fans melting down...Purdy is fine. He's no Mahomes, but he's levels above Jimmy G. His problem in this game can be attributed to Kyle...aside from Aiyuk, the 49ers' other WRs had no literally no game experience. Cowing and Pearsall had no targets in prior games (Pearsall out with gun shot injury) and Bell and Conley each had 3 prior targets total in 6 games. They were out of position all game -- terrible communication between QB and WR, which is fatal in Shanahan's offense.
