I'm not equating him to a 3rd because of that random dude's post. I'm basing it on the fact that no one has made a move for him yet, and that Veach let it be known "via sources" before FA started that KC "wouldn't take less than a 2nd," implying that a 1st was never really on the table, and that it's been reported that he wants to reset the market. Additionally, some candidates for Sneed have already made moves for other players.

I hope we'd get more in a trade, and if one doesn't develop, I'd prefer we keep him on the roster this year *assuming* he's willing to play on the tag.

As for Veach, I don't think he cares which order they go, so much as they get the right guy - ala Mahomes. Trubisky went first, and Watson was supposed to go first or second.

What I don't know is if there's a guy worth doing that for in this draft that would be available in that range.

Sneed comes with a 50 million dollar price tag. That isn't gonna happen.

Someone's gonna pay him and give up a pick equivalent to a 3rd, or we're keeping him on the tag. No?

Yeah, I ****ed that up. 2025 1st.

Yeah, and a team trading back in the first isn't gonna be wanting that as compensation for trading back.

They'll have to trade him for a pick then use said pick to trade up if they want.

A 3rd round value incorporates that assumption of his cost with the new deal.

If we send 32 + Sneed + next year's 1st, it's the equivalent of #32, a 3rd, and next year's 1st. (Assuming his trade value is a 3rd).

His value is to someone who wants to trade and pay him. The team trading back would theoretically have to want to do that, and if that's the case, they'd have already done it.

So you're saying that because a deal hasn't been made yet, that one won't happen?

There are 3 levers in this trade:
1- Sneed's Asking Price
2- Chiefs Asking Price
3- Trading team's willingness to pay for 1 & 2

It's been reported that teams were close on #2, but that #1 has been the holdup because Sneed wants to reset the market. Therefore #3 hasn't happened.

If a trade happens, it seems Sneed will have to lower his asking price because Veach sure as hell isn't taking scraps for #2, we'll just keep him on the tag. If Sneed drops his price, it opens up #2 & #3.

And if he does that, perhaps more teams come to the table and a deal gets made. Perhaps the Chiefs covet a pick in that range, and a team has that pick, and so a deal gets made.

Is it the most likely scenario? No, because we won't know who's available until draft day.

I’m with ya. I think they want a LT rd 1 and this is a good year to try to get one

Any time you can pair your star qb and receiving corps with two slow footed tackles named Brown, you have to do it.

Urgh, annoying. They've had a quietly good FA. Only problem they have now is the whole rest of their shi**y OL.

Two slow footed tackles named Brown that are known to take one or several plays off depending on their mood.

The Bengals must hate Joe Burrow.
